This role develops scalable, secure, and maintainable architectures that align with mission requirements, cloud best practices, and DoD cybersecurity standards.\nThe System Architect collaborates closely with developers, cloud engineers, cybersecurity teams, and product leadership to define technical direction, validate designs, guide implementation, and ensure alignment with long-term modernization goals.\nThis position is fully remote. \nDuties & Responsibilities\nThe System Architect will:\nArchitect enterprise applications, mobile apps, websites, and backend systems deployed within AWS GovCloud. \nDefine system architecture blueprints, integration patterns, data flows, and service interaction models. \nLead cloud architecture decisions including VPC configurations, security boundaries, and cloud-native service usage. \nProvide technical oversight for development teams to ensure architectural compliance. \nDesign secure API integrations, identity and access flows, and cross-system data exchanges. \nEnsure architectures meet performance, scalability, availability, and reliability requirements. \nDevelop migration paths, modernization strategies, and technical roadmaps for legacy systems. \nConduct design reviews, security evaluations, and architectural assessments. \nCollaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure alignment with DoD security controls and hardening requirements. \nWork with database and DevSecOps teams on service orchestration, automation, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment patterns. \nProduce detailed architectural artifacts such as diagrams, specifications, patterns, and system documentation. \nTroubleshoot complex architectural issues and guide resolution strategies. \nQualifications\nClearance Requirement\nMust hold an active Secret clearance, supported by a Tier 3 background investigation.\nEducation (Required)\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.\nExperience (Required)\nMinimum6ye ars of experience in system architecture, enterprise application design, or software engineering. \nExperience architecting cloud-based applications using AWS or similar platforms. \nExperience supporting enterprise or federal application ecosystems. \nExperience designing APIs, integrations, data flows, and system communication patterns. \nExperience performing architectural reviews, risk assessments, and modernization planning. \nTechnical Knowledge (Required)\nStrong understanding of AWS GovCloud architecture, cloud networking, IAM, security patterns, and cloud services. \nKnowledge of enterprise application architecture including microservices, APIs, and web application frameworks. \nFamiliarity with mobile application architectures and backend integration strategies. \nExperience with secure coding principles and DoD cybersecurity requirements. \nUnderstanding of CI/CD, DevSecOps practices, and automated deployment pipelines. \nTechnical Knowledge (Preferred)\nExperience with serverless architectures and container orchestration. \nFamiliarity with modern frontend frameworks and mobile app development stacks. \nExperience designing architectures for IL5 or other high-security environments. \nCertifications\nRequired:\nCompTIA Security+ \nPreferred:\nAWS Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional) \nCISSP or CCSP \nITIL v4 Foundation \nSkills\nStrong architectural design and systems thinking capabilities. \nExcellent communication skills for engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders. \nAbility to produce clear technical documentation and diagrams. \nStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities. \nAbility to guide development teams and enforce architectural standards. \nOur Equal Employment Opportunity Policy\nEEO and Affirmative Action Policy: DecisionPoint Corporation is an Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer.
