About the Role
As a Sales Engineer at Decisions, you’ll serve as the technical and consultative partner throughout the sales process, working alongside Account Executives to help prospective customers understand how the Decisions platform can solve real business challenges.
You’ll lead product demonstrations, uncover customer needs, translate business requirements into potential solutions, and help prospects understand how Decisions can improve their processes. This role sits at the intersection of business, technology, and sales, requiring someone who can communicate confidently, ask the right questions, learn complex technology, and adapt quickly.
What You’ll Own
- Partner with Account Executives to understand customer needs and support opportunities throughout the sales process.
- Lead software demonstrations tailored to customer use cases, industries, and priorities.
- Conduct discovery and requirements gathering conversations to uncover business challenges and opportunities for improvement.
- Translate customer requirements into solution concepts, customized demos, and proofs of concepts.
- Build and configure solutions within the Decisions platform to demonstrate relevant capabilities.
- Explain complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Engage confidently with stakeholders ranging from developers and technical leaders to business users and executives.
- Research prospects and prepare relevant use cases ahead of customer conversations.
- Adapt demonstrations and conversations in real time as customer needs and questions evolve.
- Collaborate across Sales, Customer Success, Professional Services, Marketing, and technical teams to support customer opportunities.
- Support sales and marketing initiatives, including events, conferences, demos, and customerfacing materials.
- Manage multiple opportunities and priorities across different customers and industries.
What You Bring
- 3+ years of experience in sales engineering, solutions consulting, technology consulting, business analysis, solutions architecture, implementation, professional services, or a similar customer-facing technical role.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant professional experience.
- Proven experience with enterprise software, business process automation, workflow technology, or low-code/no-code platforms.
- Experience with software demonstrations and technical discovery.
- Familiarity with databases, APIs, integrations, application administration, or software development concepts is a plus; deep programming expertise is not required.
- Strong communication and presentation skills in customer-facing environments.
- A consultative mindset with the ability to ask effective questions and uncover underlying business needs. • Understanding business processes and opportunities for process improvement.
- Technical aptitude and the ability to learn and demonstrate complex software.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders, including executives.
