As an additive manufacturing engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing unique solutions that address our business needs and capitalise on additive manufacturing technologies.\nIn this role, you will work closely with our technology development and production team to develop and produce parts for Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing.\nResponsibilities\nDevelop toolpaths for Directed Energy Deposition (DED)-arc. \nWork closely with the production team to capture design-related issues during manufacturing and implement continual design improvements. \nDrive the transition and optimisation of designs for low-volume, complex components from traditional manufacturing to additive manufacturing techniques. \nUtilise innovative thinking to exploit the benefits of additive manufacturing while effectively addressing its limitations. \nWork closely with the technology development team to ensure engineering designs are compatible with enhanced manufacturing techniques, processes and material development. \nCreate engineering drawings related to the manufacture of Additive Manufactured parts. \nEstablish design limitations of the DED-arc and integrate these into the product development cycle. \nShare design knowledge and best practices with the team to support continuous learning. \nRequirements\nEssential Skills & Experience\nBachelor’s, Master’s degree or PHD in Engineering, Design, Materials Science, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. \nMinimum of 3 years relevant work experience in engineering, with a focus on production and manufacturing. \nProficiency in CAD/CAM software \nA strong understanding of additive manufacturing technologies and materials. \nHands-on experience with operating and troubleshooting 3D printing equipment. \nExperience with statistical data analysis and data-driven approaches to root cause analysis \nAbility to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. \nStrong communication and project management skills. \nA practical understanding of machinery and maintenance \nExperience with python or other languages \n\nDesirable Skills & Experience\nExtensive knowledge of design for additive manufacturing. \nExperience with robotic welding \nKnowledge of quality control standard (e.g. ISO 9001, AS 9100). \nExperience and knowledge of engineering change control and document workflows \nStrong analytical knowledge \nExperience with DED-arc technology. \nExperience working with robotic arms \nExperience and knowledge of BS8888 \nExperience creating, understanding and verifying FEA , CFD Models \nBenefits\nWhat's in it for you\nSalary - competitive\nBonus - Performance related bonus scheme\nPension - 9% employer contribution with an optional employee contribution\nAnnual Leave - 25 days, plus statutory holidays\nWho we are\nDEEP Manufacturing, based in Avonmouth (Bristol) offers advanced manufacturing capabilities and expertise in large-format metal additive manufacturing, rapid prototyping and material testing.
