Your skills and attention to detail will have a direct impact on the quality, accuracy and performance of the finished parts.\nYou will be responsible for setting and operating a state-of-the-art 5-axis CNC machining centre, ensuring components are manufactured safely, accurately and efficiently, in accordance with engineering drawings, quality standards and production requirements.\nThis is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CNC Machinist looking to join a technically focused manufacturing environment, develop their skills and progress their career.\nRequirements\nSetting and operating 5-axis CNC machining centres\nWorking with Heidenhain CNC controls\nSetting tools, fixtures, work offsets and machine parameters · Setting work offsets using probing systems and manual methods\nSelecting and mounting appropriate cutting tools and tool holders · Setting and adjusting tool offsets\nMaking minor CNC programme edits where required\nReading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings\nManufacturing precision components to tight dimensional tolerances · Inspecting components during the machining process using micrometers, verniers, gauges and other precision measuring equipment, validating dimensional requirements\nMonitoring machining processes to maintain quality, reliability and efficiency\nCompleting relevant production and machine setup documentation\nWorking safely and effectively to meet production schedules\nIdentifying and supporting opportunities for continuous improvement\nMaintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment\nCompleting daily work orders for simple maintenance tasks\nSkills & Experience\nPrevious experience as a CNC Setter/Operator on machining centres (3+ years preferable)\nExperience with 3-, 4- and/or 5-axis CNC machining\nExperience using Heidenhain controls\nAbility to independently set CNC milling machines\nConfident reading and interpreting engineering drawings\nExperience using precision measuring and inspection equipment\nExperience machining materials such as aluminium, mild steel, stainless steel and/or nickel-based superalloys\nGood understanding of engineering tolerances and quality requirements\nGood understanding of cutting tools, workholding, datums, work offsets and tool offsets\nStrong attention to detail and problem-solving skills\nA reliable, proactive and positive approach to work\nAbility to work effectively both independently and as part of a technical manufacturing team\nBenefits\nWhat's in it for you\nSalary - £ competitive\nBonus - Performance related bonus scheme.\nPension - 9% employer contribution with an optional employee contribution\nAnnual Leave - 25 days, plus statutory holidays\nLunch - Free lunch and breakfast provided onsite alongside snacks\nParking - Free onsite parking\nWho we are\nDEEP Manufacturing, based in Avonmouth (Bristol) offers advanced manufacturing capabilities and expertise in large-format metal additive manufacturing, rapid prototyping and material testing.
