Early focus areas include:\nUltra-robust ASR in noisy, multi-mic environments\n\nHigh-accuracy, menu-aware drive-thru and phone ordering agents\n\nReal-time analytics and operational intelligence\n\nDeeper, more reliable in-restaurant hardware integration\n\nWe are already partnering with several leading brands and will continue expanding these efforts\nWhat You’ll Do\nDesign, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend systems for our automated order-taking platform\n\nCollaborate closely with our team to ensure the seamless integration of our backend with our ML models and client devices\n\nMonitor and optimize the performance of our backend systems in production environments\n\nBuild and maintain integrations with 3rd party restaurant software systems like POS, loyalty, payment gateways, and customer data platforms\n\nImplement best practices in system design, code quality, and testing to ensure a reliable, secure, and maintainable system\n\nOptimize AI pipeline to improve performance in challenging audio environments, robustly handle ambiguous customer requests, and rapidly scale to new menus\n\nPush the very boundaries of LLMs and voice AI technology to solve one of the technology industry’s historically elusive challenges\n\nRun experiments to validate the product impact of new functionality\n\nIt’s Important To Us That You Have\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field\n\n4+ years of hands-on experience in developing, implementing, and maintaining backend infrastructure in production environments\n\nProven track record of building and deploying scalable, high-performance backend systems\n\nExperience with cloud-based infrastructure and deployment technologies, such as AWS and API design\n\nExcellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to a rapidly evolving startup environment\n\nStrong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team\n\nWillingness to problem solve across our entire product\n\nAbility to proactively recognize problems and identify solutions to those problems\n\nResults oriented and care about the impact of your work\n\nIt Would Be Great if You Had\nExperience working with audio\n\nExperience taking a backend system from zero to one\n\nExperience building and maintaining a system that integrates with many 3rd party APIs, particularly Point of Sale systems\n\nExperience with Python, Kotlin, or Java\n\nExperience with containerization tools, such as Docker and Kubernetes\n\nExperience working in or alongside AI / ML\n\nNotice: We're aware of individuals impersonating Deepgram recruiters.
