Your Responsibilities
As an Embedded Software Engineer for John Deere Intelligent Solutions Group (ISG) located inUrbandale, IA or Silvis, IL you will ….
- Be a member of an embedded development scrum team working with multiple stakeholders to build and implement functionality for John Deere agricultural equipment such as In-Field Data Sharing and Logistics.
- Collaborate with Systems Engineers, Software Architects, and other teams in the John Deere Tech Stack to design, develop, and test software for a broad spectrum of Deere equipment with a focus on Precision Ag.
- Operate as a member in a scrum team environment on varying projects with and provide work direction for team members.
- Provide product support and defect triage of those system(s).

What Skills You Need
- 1 year of demonstrated experience in embedded software development using C++, Python, Java, or other Object-Oriented languages.
- Knowledge of CAN & Ethernet protocols and tools.
- Experience in design, development, and testing software applications.
- Understand real-time operating systems and multi process/thread concepts.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a distributed team environment.
What Makes You Stand Out
- Knowledge of IoT Messaging
- Demonstrated understanding of Object-Oriented Principles.
- Demonstrated understanding of inter process communication and multi-threading.
- Experience working with Ops Center via Embedded Gen4/5 Interfaces.
