Transports passengers safely and\ncourteously.\nThis classification is safety sensitive, subject to random drug testing in accordance with the County’s Drug & Alcohol Policy.\nEssential Functions:\nThe following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.\nDrives passenger mini-bus on an assigned route to transport passengers between County facilities and other designated locations in a safe and courteous manner.\nEnsures safe loading and unloading of passengers, including operation of specialized equipment for passengers with special needs such as wheelchairs.\nAssists individuals with physical and/or mental disabilities, ensuring passenger safety.\nCommunicates with passengers, providing information and responding to inquiries.\nConsults with Supervisor on a regular basis concerning schedule and route.\nPerforms pre- and post-trip bus inspection to ensure proper operating conditions, cleanliness of vehicle, and compliance with safety standards.\nPerforms basic vehicle maintenance service, such as checking fluid levels, and makes minor repairs to vehicle as needed.\nReports any equipment malfunctions or potential problems with vehicle and coordinates with Fleet Maintenance for preventative maintenance and repair.\nProvides written and verbal reports to document incidents, including accident reports and repair requests.\nResponds to emergency situations involving passengers or other vehicles for the purpose of maintaining passenger safety.\nCommunicates with supervisor, employees, other departments, the public, and other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information, or resolve problems;
