Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis.\nA Day in the Life and the Impact You’ll Make:\nThe Process Safety Engineer provides technical services and guidance to support Process Safety improvement activities globally (with a focus on North America) to clients in various industries. This position involves professional work for research, development, design, operations, evaluation, and improvement of manufacturing facilities, processing equipment, handling methods, or products. The Process Safety Engineer role is responsible for proposing practical risk-reducing tactics, recommending testing (when needed), and assisting clients in the interpretation and application of technical information applicable to their facility.\nWhat You’ll Do: \nContribute to a safe and healthy work environment by actively participating, taking responsibility, and following established procedures and policies.\nPrimarily responsible to provide a variety of process safety assessments, reviews, or evaluations for equipment, processes, or procedures at a client’s facility or remotely. \nPerforming process safety assessments and evaluations to OSHA and PSM standards.\nReview and apply best practices and code requirements from a variety of standards and regulations (NFPA, Building & Fire Codes, OSHA, FM Global, etc.)\nCommunication with clients and consulting team in a timely, effective, and continuous manner.\nFollow-up on new opportunities and prepare quotations for prospective clients.\nPerform on team projects and independently on projects or tasks.\nDevelop technical reports as required.\nPerform technical reviews for peers which could include marketing papers, presentations, reports, etc.\nOther duties may be assigned to meet business needs.\nWhat You’ll Bring: \nEducation: BS (or Higher) in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or Fire Protection) or other safety related field\nEIT or Safety-related designation preferred (CSP, CFEI, CCPSC, PE, etc.)\nMinimum of 5 years’ experience in the field of process safety\nExperience with Combustible Dust, Flammable, and/or other Hazardous Materials is preferred\nExperience and strong knowledge in safety-related areas (PSM, RMP, combustible dust, chemical reaction hazards, flammable liquids/gases, etc.)\nStrong knowledge of relevant safety standards and regulations (NFPA, Building & Fire Codes, OSHA, etc.)\nStrong personal communications and leadership skills\nMust be able to work well under pressure within a team environment\nMust deliver reports and analysis documents within time-driven deadlines\nPhysical Considerations:\nMust be able to work in a variety of client locations, environments, and conditions. This may include climbing stairs, walking long distances, walking on rough and uneven terrain, walking through client work facilities, working in heat/cold conditions, indoors and outdoors.\nMust be able to accommodate working various shifts as client activities are scheduled.\nMust be able to withstand the rigors of extensive travel.\nMay require difficult travel and long periods of driving.\nAbility to move and conduct work with full range of motion.\nAbility to lift 25-50lbs (luggage)\nExtended periods of computer-based work\nExtended periods of standing\nTravel Considerations:\nDomestic and/or international travel required, estimated up to 50%\nWhat You’ll Receive for the Value You Bring:\nCompensation:\nDEKRA North America’s compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets The base pay for this position ranges from $30 per hour up to $90 per hour.
