The U.S. Payroll Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate and compliant payroll processing for projects governed by prevailing wage laws. This role focuses on certified payroll reporting, prevailing wage compliance, and ensuring adherence to U.S. Federal, State, and local labor regulations.\nKey Responsibilities\nCertified Payroll & Compliance\nReview weekly certified payroll for employees on prevailing wage projects, verifying accuracy in wage determinations, fringe benefit allocations, and overtime calculations\n\nMaintain up-to-date knowledge of U.S. federal (IRA), state, and local prevailing wage laws\n\nEnsure accurate tracking and reporting of fringe benefits to meet prevailing wage requirements\n\nRespond promptly to payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries regarding wages, deductions, and benefits\n\nCertified Payroll Reporting\nVerify compliance with reporting requirements, including worker classifications, hours worked, and applicable wage rates\n\nMaintain organized and detailed records of all certified payroll submissions for audits and client requests\n\nSupport internal and external audits by preparing and providing required documentation and reports\n\nCollaboration & Communication\nCollaborate with compliance managers, project managers, and accounting teams to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing\n\nCommunicate effectively with contractors, subcontractors, and clients to resolve payroll or reporting-related issues\n\nParticipate in cross-departmental meetings to align payroll practices with project and compliance goals\n\nSkills and Knowledge\nComprehensive knowledge of prevailing U.S. wage laws, certified payroll requirements, and labor regulations is a plus but not required\n\nProficiency in certified payroll systems (e.g., LCPtracker, eMars, or similar) is a plus but not required\n\nAdvanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis\n\nStrong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities\n\nStrong command of both verbal and written communication in English\n\nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in accounting, law, or related field (preferred)\n\n5-10+ years’ experience with U.S. payroll, preferably as it relates to labor compliance and prevailing wage regulations within the construction, staffing, or government contracting industries (a plus but not required)\n\nAbility to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment\n\nAbility to work in U.S. hours (Eastern / Pacific Time)\n\nLocation:
