FirstLook Lung, for individuals eligible for lung cancer screening, is DELFI Diagnostics’ first laboratory-developed screening test and can be part of routine blood work. FirstLook Lung uses millions of data points to reliably identify individuals who may have cancer detected through low-dose CT, including early stage disease with a negative predictive value of 99.8 percent. We show up with empathy, humility, and integrity at every step of the journey.\nAbout the role\nIn this role, you will lead the day-to-day facilities, environmental health and safety (EH&S), and laboratory inventory operations that keep DELFI’s Palo Alto laboratory and office spaces safe, compliant, and fully supplied. Reporting to the Director, Facilities & Supply Chain, you will manage a team of facilities and inventory professionals, own key vendor and property management relationships, and translate department goals into the processes, SOPs, and controls that support our clinical and research laboratories. You will partner closely with R&D, Lab Operations, Quality, IT, Legal, Procurement, Accounts Payable, and People teams to ensure lab and office spaces operate without disruption, and you will help build the space, inventory, and EH&S infrastructure needed to scale DELFI through commercial launch.\nThis roles requires 5 days a week onsite at our Palo Alto office.\nWhat you'll do\nLead and develop a team of facilities and inventory management staff, including hiring, training, goal setting, performance management, and corrective action.\n\nOwn the facilities safety inspection program, including daily safety walkthroughs, weekly and monthly safety tasks, fire extinguisher inspections, and annual evacuation drills.\n\nBuild and manage an Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) program, including hazardous materials and waste management, that ensures compliance with city, state, and federal requirements for our clinical and research laboratory spaces.\n\nManage external vendors for building maintenance and improvements, including electrical, plumbing, utilities, HVAC, and hazardous materials and waste services.\n\nCo-own the relationship with Property Management alongside the Director, Supply Chain, and ensure building and lease compliance.\n\nOversee physical security, including badge access, alarms, and visitor management policies.\n\nPartner with Lab Operations on laboratory equipment readiness and maintenance, and with administrative staff on daily office operations.\n\nSupport long-term space planning and build-out projects, including bid evaluation, contract award, and negotiation for a new headquarters, under the direction of the Director, Supply Chain.\n\nPartner with the People team to optimize the workspace to sustain and support a hybrid office culture.\n\nOversee site and laboratory inventory operations in the ERP system, including MRP parameters, purchase order receipts for direct and indirect materials, reorder points, inventory adjustments, cycle count accuracy, and month- and year-end close.\n\nManage the in-house manufacturing work order process from raw materials to finished goods inventory (FGI), as well as incoming specimen receipt.\n\nLead the Material Specification Sheet (MSS) and Material Review Board (MRB) processes, and partner with Quality and Procurement on supplier corrective action requests (SCARs), including supplier lot information and segregation of discrepant materials for disposition.\n\nResolve purchase order and invoice discrepancies with Procurement and Accounts Payable to maintain good standing with suppliers.\n\nDevelop and maintain facilities and inventory management SOPs, deliver training on policies and procedures, and lead internal and external audits related to facilities and inventory.\n\nRecommend and implement process improvements that scale facilities and inventory operations across DELFI sites in preparation for commercial launch.\n\nWhat you'll bring\nRequired\nBachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Environmental Health & Safety, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field with 8+ years of relevant work experience; or Master’s degree with 6+ years of relevant work experience; or equivalent.\n\n5+ years of facilities and/or inventory management experience in a life sciences, biotech, or diagnostics laboratory environment.\n\n2+ years of experience directly managing and developing a team.\n\nTraining or certification in EH&S processes and working knowledge of applicable regulations (e.g., Cal/OSHA, hazardous materials and waste, and fire code requirements).\n\nHands-on experience with ERP/MRP-based inventory management, including cycle counts, inventory adjustments, and period-end close.\n\nWorking knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building maintenance.\n\nExperience leading internal and external audits related to facilities and inventory management.\n\nStrong problem-solving skills and adaptability in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.\n\nProven ability to collaborate cross-functionally, build relationships at all levels of the organization, and communicate effectively in writing and presentations.\n\nPreferred\nHazardous materials and waste certification (e.g., DOT/RCRA hazardous waste training).\n\nExperience supporting facilities and inventory operations in a CLIA/CAP or ISO 13485-regulated environment.\n\nExperience with laboratory or office build-outs or relocations, including vendor bids and contract negotiation.\n\nExperience managing facilities or inventory teams across multiple
