Together, we’re unlocking new possibilities as one global team.\nAbout the role\nWe are looking for an experienced Senior Payroll Analyst to join our Global Payroll team and play a key role in the delivery and continuous improvement of payroll across our international markets.\nThis is a senior operational role with responsibility for overseeing payroll activity across multiple countries. You will bring strong payroll expertise, sound judgement and a proactive approach to ensure employees are paid accurately, on time and in compliance with local legislation.\nWorking closely with the Payroll Team, internal HR and People teams, Finance, Tax and external payroll providers, you will take ownership of complex payroll activities, provide subject-matter expertise and act as a key escalation point for payroll issues.\nThe role will also provide opportunities to support international payroll projects, process improvements, system implementations and automation, helping Deliveroo build a scalable and efficient global payroll operation.\nWhat you’ll be doing\nTake ownership of the end-to-end payroll delivery for assigned international entities.\nPartner with local HR, People Operations, Finance and Tax teams to ensure payroll inputs are complete, accurate and delivered within agreed timelines.\nReview, validate and approve payroll inputs and outputs, identifying discrepancies, trends and potential risks before payroll is finalised.\nApply a strong understanding of legislation across multiple jurisdictions, statutory requirements and payroll practices, ensuring processes remain compliant and appropriately controlled.\nWork closely with external payroll providers, holding them accountable for accuracy, timeliness, compliance and service delivery.\nAct as a senior escalation point for complex employee and stakeholder payroll queries, providing clear guidance and appropriate resolutions.\nPerform and oversee payroll reconciliations, payment validation and statutory submissions, ensuring appropriate controls are completed and documented.\nAnalyse payroll data and reporting to identify anomalies, control weaknesses, recurring issues and opportunities for improvement.\nMaintain strong payroll governance and documentation, ensuring processes, controls and procedures are consistently followed.\nProactively identify opportunities to simplify, standardise and automate payroll processes, reducing manual intervention and operational risk.\nSupport and lead payroll-related projects, including system implementations, payroll migrations, integrations, process changes and new entity onboarding.\nPartner with Technology and payroll vendors to troubleshoot system and integration issues and support effective resolution.\nContribute to the development of payroll policies, procedures, controls and best practices across international markets.\nShare knowledge and provide guidance to Payroll Analysts and other team members, helping to build capability and consistency across the wider team.\nStay up to date with changes to payroll legislation and communicate relevant impacts to internal stakeholders and payroll providers.\nSupport the Payroll Lead with wider global payroll initiatives and deputise where required.\nWhat you’ll bring\nSignificant experience working in a payroll analyst or senior payroll position, ideally within a complex, international organisation.\nStrong hands-on experience of international payroll, with experience of Italy and/or France payroll highly desirable.\nGood working knowledge of Italian and/or French payroll legislation, statutory requirements and payroll processes is preferable.\nExperience managing payroll across multiple countries and working with third-party payroll providers.\nStrong understanding of payroll controls, reconciliations, payments, statutory reporting and compliance.\nStrong analytical skills, with the ability to interrogate payroll data, identify discrepancies and understand the root cause of issues.\nExcellent attention to detail and a strong focus on payroll accuracy and risk management.\nExperience of identifying and implementing process improvements, automation and operational efficiencies.\nExperience supporting or leading payroll projects, system implementations or payroll migrations.\nStrong Excel skills and confidence working with payroll data and reporting.\nExperience with Workday/Cloudpay or other HR/payroll technology is preferred.\nExcellent stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to challenge, influence and provide a clear point of view.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex payroll matters clearly to both payroll and non-payroll
