In this role, you will be the owner of the accounting and tax compliance for our Polish entity. You will bridge the gap between local statutory requirements (Polish Accounting Act) and Group Accounting Policies (IFRS).\nYour mission is to ensure the month-end closing process is seamless, data is bulletproof, and all reporting - both internal to HQ and external to Polish authorities - is delivered with the highest precision. You will work in a fast-paced, international environment, collaborating closely with local, regional, and central finance teams.\nTHE JOURNEY\nAccounting & Closing Management\nLead and execute the full month-end and year-end closing process for the Polish entity, ensuring all deadlines are met.\n\nMaintain the company’s accounting books in accordance with the Polish Accounting Act (UoR) and Group Accounting Policies.\n\nEnsure completeness, accuracy, and reliability of all financial data recorded in the general ledger.\n\nManage and supervise monthly accruals, provisions, and deferrals.\n\nEffectively cooperate with the local financial team, financial teams located in our HQ and external services providers.\n\nTax, Statutory & Statistical Reporting\nOversee tax compliance: Supervise the preparation and filing of VAT, CIT, and other tax obligations (in cooperation with external service providers).\n\nStatutory reporting: Prepare annual financial statements according to Polish accounting standards.\n\nStatistical reporting: Ensure timely and accurate submission of reports to GUS (Statistics Poland) and NBP (National Bank of Poland).\n\nMonitor changes in Polish tax law and accounting regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.\n\nCollaboration & Audit\nLiaison for Group Finance: Cooperate with local Finance Team and Regional Controllers and HQ regarding Group reporting and policy alignment.\n\nAudit Management: Effectively cooperate with external auditors, providing necessary documentation and explanations for annual audits.\n\nSupport the Head of Finance in ad-hoc financial analysis and local treasury/cash-flow management.\n\nProcess Excellence & Leadership\nSupervision: Guide and review the work of junior team members or external accounting partners, ensuring high-quality output.\n\nAutomation: Drive initiatives to standardize and automate accounting processes (e.g., ERP improvements).\n\nMaintain and update internal accounting procedures and control frameworks.\n\n WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE RIDE\nEducation: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.\n\nCertification: Professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or Polish Ministry of Finance/SKwP certificate) is a strong asset.\n\nExperience: At least 5+ years of experience in accounting, with a proven track record in a \"Senior\" or \"Chief\" role within a multinational environment.\n\nStandards: Expert knowledge of Polish Accounting Standards (UoR) and Polish Tax Regulations and sound proficiency in IFRS.\n\nAudit Background: Not necessary but experience working in or with Big 4 audit firms is a strong advantage.\n\nTools: Advanced knowledge of SAP (or similar Tier 1 ERP) and expert level MS Excel.\n\nLanguages: Fluency in English and Polish is mandatory (daily communication with global teams).\n\nMindset: Exceptional analytical skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while being a part of local team directly and closely cooperating with central team.\n\nIndividuals representing diverse profiles, and abilities, encompassing various genders, ethnicities, and backgrounds, are less likely to apply for this role if they do not possess solid experience in 100% of these areas.
