Working at the cutting edge, we design and develop the software powering Dell's enterprise storage products as part of the Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG) - spanning platforms, applications and diagnostics, all with the most advanced technologies, tools, software engineering methodologies and the collaboration of internal and external partners.\nOur DataPath Engineering team builds the high-performance storage software stack at the heart of Dell’s primary storage platforms - applying spec-driven development (SDD) and clear engineering governance to deliver complex software with both speed and without sacrificing quality.\nKey Responsibilities\nAs a Principal Software Engineer, you will:\nDesign, develop, and own complex software features - from requirements and design through implementation, testing, and long-term support.\nBuild high-performance datapath software on SPDK, integrating emerging drive, enclosure, and protocol technologies.\nOwn performance analysis of the storage software data path - including queueing behavior, CPU efficiency, memory usage, PCIe bottlenecks, and latency behavior.\nWork closely with architecture, hardware, and software teams on HW/SW interface definition.\nExperiment with and integrate emerging AI tools into the development workflow to boost productivity and innovation.\nEssential Requirements\nRelevant BSc with exceptional marks from a top university.\n7+ years of hands-on experience with one or more of: storage, device drivers, embedded software/firmware, Linux, networking, including a proven track record of contributing to open-source projects and engaging with upstream communities.\nExpert-level coding skills in C/C++.\nExperience and understanding of Linux internals including algorithms, data structures, multithreading concepts, object synchronization and communication protocols.\nComfort working in an AI-native development environment -
