Manufacturing Engineering plays a critical role in delivering safe, scalable and world-class manufacturing operations while driving quality, efficiency and continuous improvement.\nJoin us to do the best work of your career and make a profound social impact as a Principal Manufacturing Engineer on our Cork Manufacturing Engineering team in Cork.\nWhat you’ll achieve\nAs a Principal Manufacturing Engineer, you will lead local and global cross-functional teams to develop, deploy, and support manufacturing solutions within Cork Manufacturing Operations.\nAs a recognized technical leader, you will drive manufacturing process excellence, industrial engineering, new product introduction, equipment deployment, and capacity planning across complex AI rack assembly and test operations. You will provide technical leadership for both day-to-day manufacturing support and long-term factory development, ensuring safe, scalable, and efficient manufacturing solutions that meet customer and business needs.\nYou will:\nLead the introduction of new AI racked server products into manufacturing, ensuring rapid and successful transition from development to volume production.\n\nOwn manufacturing readiness for new products, technologies, equipment, automation, processes, factory layout and capacity, delivering robust and scalable solutions to meet business requirements.\n\nProvide technical leadership and rapid response for manufacturing, quality, and customer issues, driving effective problem resolution and continuous improvement.\n\nSupport day-to-day manufacturing operations, working closely with Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain to achieve customer, quality, cost, and delivery objectives.\n\nServe as the technical authority for manufacturing processes, factory performance, industrial engineering, capacity planning, and operational scalability.\n\nLead the development and deployment of innovative manufacturing solutions that improve productivity, quality, capacity, efficiency, and operational performance.\n\nDevelop manufacturing strategies, investment roadmaps, manufacturing layouts, and capacity plans aligned with business growth, product technology transitions, and future manufacturing requirements.\n\nInfluence strategic investment decisions, establish engineering standards, and mentor engineers while fostering technical excellence across the organization.\n\nApply structured problem-solving, quality, lean manufacturing, and project management methodologies to drive operational excellence and business results.\n\nLead cross-functional teams through complex manufacturing challenges, demonstrating urgency, accountability, and effective decision-making.\n\nOther engineering duties as required and assigned.\n\nTake the first step towards your dream career\nEvery Dell Technologies team member brings something unique to the table. Here’s what we are looking for with this role:\nEssential Requirements\nMaster’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical discipline\n\n10+ years of manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, process engineering or related experience.\n\nExperience supporting manufacturing operations within a high-volume, technically complex environment.\n\nProven problem-solving capability using structured methodologies and data-driven decision making.\n\nExperience in manufacturing process development, equipment deployment, capacity planning and factory optimization.\n\nDemonstrated expertise in manufacturing process design, line balancing, capacity modeling, factory layout optimization, and productivity improvements.\n\nExperience leading large-scale manufacturing transformations, capacity expansion programs, or optimization initiatives.\n\nDemonstrated leadership of cross-functional engineering teams and projects.\n\nProven ability to influence senior leadership and drive enterprise-wide engineering strategies.\n\nStrong communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.\n\nProven ability to make sound technical decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, balancing customer, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.\n\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.\n\nFluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.\n\nDesirable Requirements\nProfessional certification in Project Management (PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent)\nLean Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt or equivalent certification\nExperience supporting the introduction and scale-up of complex manufacturing processes.\nExperience developing manufacturing strategies and processes for high-mix, low-volume and configurable products.\nExperience with automation, digital manufacturing, Industry 4.0 and manufacturing analytics.\nExperience working across global engineering and manufacturing organizations\nExperience mentoring engineers and leading technical capability development initiatives.\nHere’s our story; now tell us yours\nDell Technologies helps organizations and individuals build a brighter digital tomorrow.
