Principal, Supplier Process Engineering

Our Supplier Process Engineering team works with our suppliers to enable them to produce materials and components of the highest quality. Working closely with our product developers, we select and monitor vendors and suppliers who can meet our high engineering and quality standards. In addition, we perform regular auditing and undertake design and development engineering assignments to develop new products or update existing products. We’re also experts in establishing systems and procedures to enhance overall quality.

In this position, you will be responsible for managing suppliers’ technical development and product quality for Mechanical parts supporting the L10 and L11 factories. This opportunity offers a wide breadth of experience and an advanced knowledge of Dell’s supply chain. You will:

  • Serve as the primary interface contact for supplier-related quality escapes, non-conformances at APCC.

  • Work closely with commodity supplier quality engineers / Dell factory teams (GOQ) to drive issues to closure

  • Work with Dell engineering teams to root cause issues

  • Coordinate sort, rework, and return activities with suppliers and internal teams

  • Collaborate with Procurement on supplier performance and risk mitigation strategies

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, with 3-5 years of experience in Supplier Quality Engineering or a similar quality role.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical quality issues to both internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple suppliers simultaneously across various commodity categories.
  • Capable of working under pressure in fast-paced production environments while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Proactive self-starter with a strong focus on identifying, mitigating, and preventing quality risks before they impact production.

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience in Supplier Quality Engineering, preferably within server, data center, or rack-level hardware environments, with strong knowledge of manufacturing processes such as sheet metal fabrication, CNC machining, die casting, and mechanical assembly.
  • Proficient in quality engineering methodologies and tools, including GD&T, mechanical inspection, metrology, FMEA, SPC, MSA, PPAP, and Control Plans, with willingness to travel to supplier sites as required.
