This role is ideal for someone who combines strongAI/GenAI data pipeline expertise with hands-on Azure, data discovery and analysis. You will be comfortable working with unstructured data and modern Azure-native architectures. You will play a key role in transforming complex datasets into meaningful insights, working closely with Tax domain specialists to understand requirements, shape solutions, and clearly present outputs that drive business value. Data Engineering & Azure Platform DeliveryDesign and build end-to-end data pipelines using Azure (ADF, Synapse, Fabric)\nDevelop scalable frameworks for ingesting structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data\nImplement modern architectures (e.g. Lakehouse, medallion - bronze/silver/gold)\nBuild and optimise storage solutions across ADLS Gen2, Cosmos DB, and Azure SQL/Synapse\nDeliver scalable, maintainable, production-ready solutions\n2. Unstructured Data & NoSQL Engineering\nDesign pipelines to process, transform, and enrich unstructured data.\nLeverage Cosmos DB for high-throughput, low-latency, schema-flexible workloads\nOptimise partitioning, indexing, and query performance\nEnable downstream analytics and AI use cases (e.g. reporting, search, RAG)\n3. Data Discovery, Analysis & Business Engagement\nConduct data discovery, profiling, and exploratory analysis\nCollaborate with Tax & Legal stakeholders to translate business needs into data solutions\nIdentify trends, anomalies, and data quality issues\nPresent insights clearly to non-technical and senior stakeholders\nSupport development of curated datasets and semantic layers\n4. Collaboration & Delivery\nWork with data scientists, AI engineers, architects, and domain specialists\nEnable data consumption via reporting tools, APIs, and data services\nContribute to best practices in governance, lineage, and data cataloguing\nDeliver high-quality solutions in agile environments\nEssential Skills and Experience\nProven experience as an Azure Data Engineer in end-to-end data platforms \nExposure to AI/GenAI data pipelines (e.g. RAG, embeddings, search) \nKnowledge of Azure AI Search or vector-based retrieval systems \nStrong hands-on experience with: \nAzure Data Factory / Synapse / Microsoft Fabric\n\nAzure Data Lake Storage (ADLS Gen2)\nAzure Cosmos DB (Core/SQL API, NoSQL modelling)\nExperience working extensively with unstructured and semi-structured data \nProficiency in Python and SQL\nDemonstrated experience in:\nData discovery, profiling, and exploratory analysis\nData transformation and data quality frameworks\nStrong understanding of: \nNoSQL vs relational data modelling\nData partitioning and performance tuning\nExperience building scalable, production-grade data pipelines \nFamiliarity with CI/CD and DevOps practices in Azure\nDesirable:\nAzure Data Engineering Associate certification (DP-203) or equivalent \nExperience with Microsoft Fabric and Lakehouse architectures \nExperience integrating Cosmos DB with analytical platforms \nFamiliarity with data governance frameworks \nIR35\nAs a means of managing tax, commercial and reputational risks, Deloitte prohibits the use of Associates through Personal Service Companies (‘PSCs’).
