The role will lead a team of experienced infrastructure engineers, translating the target architecture into a practical, well-estimated and executable engineering plan.\nKey Responsibilities\n Lead and coordinate a team of experienced infrastructure engineers, managing workload, priorities, dependencies and delivery across the team.\n Provide strong technical leadership, steer and challenge, ensuring engineering decisions are pragmatic, consistent and aligned to the target architecture.\n Establish and embed engineering best practices and ways of working, driving quality, repeatability, automation and effective technical assurance.\n Translate the target architecture into clear engineering work packages across areas such as compute and VMware, storage and backup, database platforms, networking, security and resilience.\n Lead the estimation of engineering effort, resource requirements and delivery complexity, working with engineering SMEs to develop and challenge estimates.\n Define engineering dependencies and sequencing, providing robust inputs into the integrated programme plan and wider cost and timeline estimates.\n Maintain oversight of engineering progress, risks, blockers and capacity, proactively identifying where technical complexity or dependencies could affect delivery.\n Coordinate engineering activities across environment build, configuration, testing, migration, cutover and operational handover.\n Work closely with architecture, application, database, network, security and operations teams to ensure engineering delivery is integrated across the wider programme.\n Essential Skills\n Proven experience leading infrastructure engineering teams on large-scale transformation or migration programmes.\n Strong experience in engineering estimation, resource planning, sequencing and dependency management.\n Broad technical understanding across enterprise infrastructure, ideally including VMware/VCF, server platforms, storage, backup, networking and high-availability/disaster-recovery solutions.\n Sufficient technical depth to effectively steer and challenge experienced engineers without needing to be the detailed SME for every technology.\n Strong delivery leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills.\n IR35\nAs a means of managing tax, commercial and reputational risks, Deloitte prohibits the use of Associates through Personal Service Companies (‘PSCs’).
