Whatever we do, wherever we are in the world, we lead the way, serve with integrity, take care of each other, foster inclusion, and collaborate for measurable impact.These five shared values lead every decision we make and action we take, guiding us to deliver impact how and where it matters most.\nConnect to your opportunity\nThe team has grown rapidly over the last three years in both size and breadth of services, and we are looking for an Associate Director Data Scientist to help shape the next phase of growth, lead high-impact delivery and develop market-leading digital propositions.\nAs part of this role your key responsibilities will include:\nLead the design and delivery of data science, analytics and AI solutions that support digital innovation across Tax and Legal\nTranslate complex client and business challenges into data-driven products, proof of concepts and scalable production solutions\nOversee the processing, cleansing and validation of data used for analysis, modelling and automation\nApply advanced statistical modelling, machine learning, deep learning and Generative AI techniques to classify, predict and generate insight from tax and legal data\nTake ownership of models from initial experimentation through to deployment, monitoring, maintenance and continuous improvement\nChampion model performance, interpretability, responsible AI, governance and auditability across delivery work\nClearly and confidently articulate the value, benefits and risks of analytics and AI projects to clients and senior stakeholders\nWork closely with Tax and Legal SMEs, engineers and product teams to develop innovative digital propositions and proofs of concept\nMentor and guide data science colleagues, sharing knowledge and helping to raise the technical quality of the team\nDrive automation and optimisation of business workflows, helping clients improve efficiency, control and decision-making\nConnect to your skills and professional experience\nEssential\nExperience leading Data Science and AI initiatives from concept to production and business adoption.\nStrong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business outcomes.\nProven experience mentoring and providing technical leadership to Data Scientists and AI practitioners.\nStrong understanding of statistical modelling, machine learning, GenAI and model evaluation.\nProficiency in Python and modern Data Science frameworks.\nExperience with Azure AI services, including Azure Machine Learning and Azure AI Foundry.\nStrong understanding of Responsible AI, model governance and interpretability.\nExperience working with structured and unstructured data in Agile delivery environments.\nAbility to translate emerging technologies and R&D into practical business solutions.\nDesirable\nExperience shaping Data & AI strategy, roadmaps and technical standards.\nExperience building reusable AI assets, frameworks or products.\nStrong understanding of ML/LLMOps, CI/CD, model monitoring and production deployment.\nExperience with agentic AI, RAG and knowledge-based systems.\nExperience operating within regulated or risk-controlled environments.\nExposure to data engineering and modern data platforms.\nAzure data scientist/AI/GenAI certifications.\nRelevant postgraduate qualification (MSc, PhD) or equivalent in Data Science, AI or related discipline.\nConnect to your business - Tax\nInnovation and tax consultancy may not seem to go together, but that’s exactly what you’ll find at Deloitte.
