Influencing\nAct as a key technical member within digital engineering squads.\nChampion high coding standards, accessibility, and security across the team.\nFollow and promote shared best practices.\nCollaborate closely with product, UX/UI designers, QA, and platform teams.\nCommunicate technical topics clearly to non-technical stakeholders.\n\nKey Contacts and Stakeholders: \nManagerial software development experience.\nLead Software Developer.\nDigital Product Owners and Designers.\nQA and Automation Engineers.\nPlatform Engineering and Infrastructure Teams.\nAdobe Experience Cloud Specialists.\nPartner Development Teams (onshore and offshore).\n\nFront-End Engineering Leadership: \nDevelop, optimise, and maintain high-quality, customer-facing web experiences.\nFollow best practices around security, accessibility, SEO, and responsive design.\nAdoption of the Virgin Atlantic design system and reusable component patterns.\n\nTechnical Excellence and Innovation: \nStay current on emerging technologies and advocate for continuous front-end innovation.\nImplement modern front-end architectures leveraging SSR, SSG, and client-side rendering where appropriate.\nIntegrate front-end applications with GraphQL and RESTful APIs.\n\nOperational Excellence and L3 Support: \nProvide technical expertise during triage and incident management.\nSupport production deployments and maintain operational resilience.\nEmbed observability and telemetry best practices within the front-end codebase.\n\nCollaboration and Delivery: \nWork closely with UX/UI, Product, and Platform teams to deliver optimal customer experiences.\nParticipate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and technical estimation.\nCultivate a DevOps mindset.\n\nContinuous Improvement: \nPeer code reviews and pair programming to uplift engineering quality.\nRecommend and implement continuous improvements to workflows, tooling, and processes.\nHelp foster a culture of ownership, continuous learning, and high performance within the web development community.\n\nRequirements: \n4+ years of front-end development experience in a commercial environment.\nExpert proficiency in React, Next.js, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript.\nStrong experience integrating with headless CMS systems (Adobe AEM preferred).\nGood understanding of GraphQL APIs and server-side rendering (SSR).\nStrong knowledge of web performance, accessibility (WCAG standards), and security best practices.\nHands-on experience with design systems and component libraries (e. g., Storybook and Figma integration).\nProficiency in HTML5 CSS3 (SASS/LESS), and responsive design.\nPractical experience working with Azure and AWS-hosted applications.\nStrong experience with source control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and agile delivery methods.\n\nBehavioural Competencies: \nAbility to produce high-quality results and work in a collaborative environment by embracing diverse perspectives and
