Core office hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.\nPosition Purpose:\nThe Associate Electrical Engineering Manager is responsible for leading, coaching, and developing early-career electrical engineering team members while supporting the successful execution of electrical engineering deliverables across custom automation and capital equipment projects. This role serves as a working manager who balances people leadership, technical guidance, project execution, and resource coordination.\nThe Associate Electrical Engineering Manager focuses on building engineering capability, ensuring design quality, supporting project schedules, fostering collaboration, and creating an environment where engineers can successfully grow their technical and professional skills. This leader works closely with the Senior Electrical Engineering Manager to implement department standards, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and support overall engineering excellence.\nThis problems.\nEssential Functions:\nPeople Leadership & Team Development\nDirectly lead, mentor, coach, and develop Electrical Engineer I and Electrical Engineer II team members.\nConduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance discussions, and career development planning.\nIdentify strengths, development opportunities, and training needs within the team.\nAssist in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and retaining engineering talent.\nProvide day-to-day guidance and support to engineers working on customer projects.\nFoster a culture of accountability, collaboration, ownership, continuous learning, and problem solving.\nPromote effective communication and teamwork across engineering and cross functional departments.\nSupport succession planning and development of future machine safety, and automation solutions.\nReview electrical schematics, panel designs, bills of material, and software documentation for accuracy and completeness.\nSupport engineering teams in applying electrical standards, best practices, and approved design methodologies.\nEscalate significant technical risks, roadblocks, or resource concerns to the Senior Electrical Engineering Manager.\nAssist in maintaining and improving engineering standards, reusable design solutions, and documentation practices.\nSupport troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues during design, commissioning, startup, and field support activities.\nEncourage sound engineering decision making and application of first principles thinking.\nProject Execution & Resource Coordination\nCoordinate engineering assignments and workload balancing for Electrical Engineer I and II team members.\nMonitor project progress and proactively address schedule or resource constraints.\nEnsure assigned deliverables are completed accurately and on time.\nOwn day-to-day resource planning, work assignments, and priorities for assigned Electrical Engineer I and II team members, in alignment with department priorities established by the Senior Electrical Engineering Manager.\nAssist with identifying project risks and implementing mitigation plans.\nEnsure accountability for commitments, deadlines, and quality standards.\nSupport continuous improvement efforts focused on engineering efficiency and project execution.\nCross-Functional team collaboration\nPartner effectively with project management, mechanical engineering, manufacturing, assembly, , supply chain, and sales teams.\nPartner with Service leadership to coordinate EE support for customer escalations, field issues, startup support, and technical troubleshooting while balancing project commitments.\nFacilitate communication between engineering team members and stakeholders.\nSupport issue resolution and decision making to maintain project momentum.\nEnsure a positive working relationship throughout the organization.\nContinuous Improvement\nIdentify opportunities to improve engineering processes, workflows, standards, and documentation.\nSupport implementation of department initiatives established by the Senior Electrical Engineering Manager.\nEncourage a mindset of innovation, learning, and continuous improvement.\nEducation & Experience\nRequired\nBachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related field.\n5+ years of electrical engineering or automation engineering experience, preferably within custom machinery, converting equipment, industrial automation, or capital equipment manufacturing.\n2+ years of leadership experience or demonstrated ability to lead project teams, mentor engineers, and influence others.\nStrong knowledge of electrical controls systems, PLCs, HMIs, motion control, industrial networks, machine safety, and electrical design practices.\nStrong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.\nDemonstrated ability to manage priorities and support multiple projects simultaneously.\nPreferred\nExperience leading engineers in a custom machine building environment.\nExperience with Yaskawa, Rockwell, or Siemens automation platforms.\nExperience with AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar design software.\nFamiliarity with NFPA 70, NFPA 79, UL 508A, OSHA requirements, and machine safety standards.\nExperience supporting project planning, resource planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.\nPosition Type, Work Environment & Travel\nFull time, exempt\nNormal office environment\nTravel less than 10%.\nPhysical Demands:\nWhile performing the duties
