In addition, it sells its products under brand names licensed to the company, including adidas, Wolford, Wilson, Columbia, Tommy Hilfiger and others.\nPosition Overview\nDelta Galil is seeking a detail-oriented Costing Engineer to support product costing, pricing analysis, and cost optimization across our apparel business. This role will partner with Product Development, Design, Production, Sourcing, and vendors to evaluate product costs, identify savings opportunities, and ensure costs align with business objectives and margin targets.\nThe ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with an understanding of garment construction, materials, manufacturing processes, and apparel costing. This individual will help drive cost transparency, improve costing accuracy, and support informed decisions throughout the product development and production lifecycle.\nKey Responsibilities\nProduct Costing & Analysis\nDevelop and maintain detailed cost breakdowns for apparel products, including materials, trims, labor, manufacturing, packaging, and other applicable expenses.\nAnalyze product specifications, bills of materials, construction details, and manufacturing methods to validate cost assumptions.\nReview vendor quotations and costing submissions to assess accuracy, competitiveness, and alignment with target costs.\nIdentify cost drivers, variances, and opportunities to improve product margins.\nCost Engineering & Optimization\nPartner with Design, Product Development, Production, and Sourcing to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality, fit, or product integrity.\nEvaluate alternative materials, trims, construction methods, and manufacturing processes to achieve target costs.\nRecommend product or process adjustments that improve cost efficiency and manufacturability.\nSupport value engineering initiatives and track the impact of cost-reduction efforts.\nVendor & Cross-Functional Collaboration\nCollaborate with domestic and international vendors to review costing assumptions, negotiate cost components, and resolve discrepancies.\nWork with cross-functional teams throughout product development to establish and maintain target costs.\nCommunicate costing risks, cost changes, and margin implications to relevant stakeholders.\nSupport vendor comparisons and sourcing decisions through detailed cost analysis.\nReporting & Process Improvement\nMaintain accurate costing records, cost sheets, and supporting documentation.\nAnalyze actual versus estimated costs and investigate significant variances.\nDevelop reports and tools to improve visibility into product costs, savings opportunities, and costing trends.\nIdentify opportunities to standardize costing methodologies, improve data accuracy, and streamline workflows.\nRequirements\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, Apparel Technology, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.\nMinimum 3 years of experience in product costing, cost engineering, apparel production, sourcing, or a related function.\nUnderstanding of apparel manufacturing, garment construction, fabrics, trims, and production processes.\nExperience developing cost breakdowns and analyzing vendor quotations, material costs, labor, and manufacturing expenses.\nStrong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to identify cost drivers and evaluate savings opportunities.\nAdvanced Excel skills and proficiency in data analysis, cost modeling, and reporting.\nStrong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple products, deadlines, and competing priorities.\nExcellent communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to work effectively with vendors and cross-functional teams.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience in apparel, intimate apparel, activewear, sleepwear, or other consumer product categories.\nFamiliarity with garment costing, bills of materials, standard cost structures, and target-margin requirements.\nExperience working with overseas manufacturers and international sourcing teams.\nKnowledge of PLM, ERP, product development, or costing systems.\nExperience supporting value engineering, cost-reduction initiatives, or vendor negotiations.\nThis is a hybrid role, with 4 days in our NJ office.\nPAY RATE: $95,000/yr-$115,000/yr\nAt Delta Galil, we strive to hire and nurture amazing talent.
