Posizione

This role is offered on an Italian employment contract. Candidates must be based in Italy as we are unable to support remote working from outside the country due to local employment and tax legislation.

Position

Deltatre powers the platforms behind some of the world's most-watched sports and entertainment organisations. This role sits within the Sport Broadcast and Graphics delivery team, working alongside designers, engineers, and technologists to deliver digital experiences used by millions of fans.

As Senior Project Manager, you will lead cross-functional teams through complex, multi-disciplinary delivery - owning everything from sprint execution and project financials to client relationships and pre-sales scoping. You'll be the central point of alignment between client objectives, delivery execution, and commercial outcomes.

Responsibilities

Delivery execution

• Lead cross-functional teams to execute complex Sport Broadcast and Graphics projects
• Ensure alignment between client objectives, delivery execution, and user experience excellence
• Translate client business objectives into measurable delivery outcomes that contribute to account and portfolio strategy
• Facilitate sprint planning, estimations, and retrospectives, and drive ongoing delivery optimisations
• Lead post-launch reviews to measure operational stability and feed learnings back into project, product, and account roadmaps

Financial and commercial ownership

• Manage and track team velocity, project financials (P&L), and KPIs against the project plan
• Create and maintain detailed project plans, budgets, and reporting documentation
• Oversee project performance across delivery speed, scope, quality, and cost
• Protect project margins through disciplined change control and commercial awareness

Communication and stakeholder management

• Serve as the central communication hub across internal stakeholders, engineering teams, and clients
• Provide clear, timely updates through regular reporting, standups, and client-facing reviews
• Maintain dependency plans across sprints, infrastructure, and third-party integrations
• Build trusted relationships with client stakeholders and executive sponsors, and drive an exceptional client experience from onboarding through to support

Team leadership and governance

• Conduct daily stand-ups and end-of-sprint retrospectives, promoting agile best practices and a high-performing team culture
• Keep project artefacts (RACI matrix, RAID log, change requests, comms plans) current and accessible
• Mentor and coach junior project team members and coordinators
• Contribute to pre-sales and scoping efforts, including effort/cost estimates, RFIs, and Statements of Work (SOW)
• Establish governance cadences, steering committees, and milestone gates to keep projects aligned with business strategy

Requisiti

You have done this before - here's what we're looking for.

Required

• 3+ years' experience leading complex, multi-disciplinary projects lasting up to 12 months, managing budgets exceeding $500,000
• Hands-on experience applying Agile and Scrum methodologies to manage development teams and deliver technology solutions on time and within scope
• Proven ability to align delivery outcomes with client business goals, and to manage change control, risk, and profitability effectively
• Strong understanding of technical concepts, with the ability to bridge business goals and engineering realities
• Comfortable using the Atlassian suite, especially Jira and Confluence, to manage workflows, documentation, and sprint tracking
• Excellent verbal and written English, with the ability to communicate clearly across audiences from engineering teams to senior stakeholders
• Experience working in an international or distributed organisation, collaborating across time zones and cultures
• Track record of mentoring team members and sharing knowledge across a delivery team
• Track record of driving process improvements and delivering results in ambiguous situations, independent of formal authority

Valued

• Prior experience in tennis-focused projects
• Background in Sport Broadcast and Graphics projects more broadly
• Experience in a digital agency or fast-paced delivery environment
• Experience contributing to professional services engagements, RFIs, and Statement of Work (SOW) generation

This role sits at the intersection of delivery discipline and client relationship - you're accountable for the sprint plan and the P&L in the same week you're presenting trade-offs to an executive sponsor. It suits someone who treats governance as something that protects delivery quality, not paperwork for its own sake.

People who do well here move fluidly between the detail (a slipping estimate, a RAID log that needs updating) and the bigger picture (what this project means for the account relationship), and they take the initiative to fix a process gap without waiting to be asked.

Process and what to expect

Salary starts from €48,000 at entry level rising to €65,000 for those with significant relevant experience. Where you land depends on the experience and expertise you bring. If your expectations sit outside the range, tell us anyway - we're happy to have an open conversation. Internal progression is assessed through a structured process combining a technical assessment and a competency-based interview. The role falls under CCNL Commercio | D.Lgs. 96/2026.

• Introductory conversation: a step for us to get to know each other better, and for us to answer all questions you might have around Deltatre.
• 1-hour Technical round of Interview: we will deep dive on your experience and collect examples of the responsibilities you've been dealing with in your past experience. A chance to deep dive on the role and for you to ask questions.
• 1-hour Competency Based Interview: we will ask you situational questions around how you deal with real-life scenarios at work. Easier doing it, more than explaining it.
