The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in embedded systems, Bluetooth Low Energy (LE) technology, and software development in a regulated environment.\nResponsibilities\nYou will join a small and highly skilled team, working towards a new generation of bone conduction hearing aids independently from the technology previously used. You will play a key role in implementing and maturing our embedded software platform in close collaboration with the rest of the cross-functional development team.\nYour main responsibilities will be:\nDevelop and maintain embedded software for a system-on-chip (SoC) platform with an ARM core\nImplement, integrate and mature Bluetooth Low Energy audio and data functionality\nTranslate architectural designs into robust, maintainable, and efficient software solutions\nCollaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including DSP engineers, PC software developers, and electronics designers\nTake technical ownership of selected software modules and drive them from implementation through verification\nImplement robust testing and verification processes to ensure the software meets all functional, quality, and regulatory requirements.\nWorking according to our Oticon Medical development cycle, which complies with regulatory requirements, to implement, optimize, verify, and document solutions.\nTechnical background\nThe candidate should hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field.\nBesides, we expect that you can tick off most of the following:\nSolid experience in embedded software development using C/C++\nExperience with Bluetooth Low Energy for audio and data.\nFamiliarity with ARM-based SoCs and real-time operating systems (RTOS)\nKnowledge of audio streaming protocols and low-latency communication\nExperience with medical device software development and regulatory compliance\nAbility to produce high-quality, maintainable code\nKnowledge of good software practices, such as software design, unit testing and continuous integration\nExperience debugging complex embedded systems across software and hardware boundaries\nAs a professional, you possess keen social intelligence and are fluent in English (Danish is a plus). You are committed to finding solutions to hard problems and skilled in discussing unknowns and documenting the outcome. You are creative in finding solutions to challenges and experienced at handling issues and setbacks. You enjoy teamwork and thrive in an environment where technical discussions and collaborative problem solving are part of everyday work.\nWork environment\nThe Oticon Medical BAHS R&D organization consists of 60 people, split between the headquarters in Gothenburg, Sweden; Smørum, Denmark; and Sophia Antipolis, France.\nDue to the size of our organization, we do not plan to develop everything in-house but rather utilize subcontractors or strategic partners for parts of the development.
