This entails a broad range of technologies: from navigation algorithms for single UGVs to planning and control software for groups of autonomous agents, and from machine learning-based sensor processing algorithms to multi-modal sensor fusion and effector management.\n\nWhat are you going to do?\n\nAs a software engineer at DSS, you will design and develop the software of unmanned systems. It is a crucial role, where you will play a key part in implementing advanced navigation algorithms, ensuring software quality, and defining, designing and implementing robust software architecture. You will be part of a team with systems engineers and experts in the fields of autonomous navigation, localisation & mapping.\n\nKey responsibilities\n\n Software architecture: define and implement scalable, efficient, and reliable software architectures that meet the needs of our unmanned systems projects.\n\n Implementation of navigation algorithms: design, develop, and integrate sophisticated navigation algorithms for unmanned systems to enhance their autonomy and performance.\n\n Software deployment: oversee the deployment process to ensure smooth integration and functionality of software across various platforms and environments.\n\n Software quality assurance: maintain high standards of software quality through rigorous testing, code reviews and continuous improvement practices.\n\nWhat do you bring to the table?\n\n BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field;\n\n Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Python, or C#;\n\n Strong understanding of algorithm design and data structures;\n\n Experience with software development tools and methodologies (e.g. Git, Agile, CI/CD, Docker);\n\n Knowledge of navigation algorithms, control systems, and sensor fusion is highly desirable\n\n Familiarity with ROS 2 (Robot Operating System) is a plus;\n\n You know or are willing to learn Dutch.\n\nWhat do we offer you?\n\nAt Demcon we value a nice workplace.
