As a design engineer, you will be leading the cable design aspects of different projects and tenders. Together, we work on DEME’s vision of creating a sustainable future.Your responsibilities\nLead the design and engineering activities for offshore wind, inter-array, export and interconnector cable systems.\nProvide technical support throughout project execution and tender activities.\nReview and verify cable system designs, calculations and supplier deliverables.\nEnsure compliance with project specifications and relevant industry standards such as IEC, ISO, DNV and CIGRE.\nSupport cable ampacity studies, short-circuit assessments and electrical system evaluations.\nVerify cable type testing, qualification programmes and certification requirements.\nContribute to technical risk assessments and identify opportunities for optimization.\nSupport technical clarifications during tender phases and provide engineering input for cost estimates and schedules.\nAssist manufacturing, installation, testing and commissioning activities.\nParticipate in FATs, mock-ups and offshore testing campaigns.\nPerform site visits and offshore assignments to support troubleshooting and project delivery.\nContribute to HAZID, HAZOP, lessons learned sessions and continuous improvement initiatives.\nEnsure compliance with DEME's QHSES standards and safety culture.\nYour profile\nMaster's degree in Electrical Engineering or another relevant engineering discipline.\nMinimum 2 years of experience in offshore wind, subsea cables, power transmission or electrical infrastructure projects.\nKnowledge of HVAC and/or HVDC cable systems is a strong asset.\nFamiliarity with offshore electrical infrastructure, cable design principles and industry standards.\nExperience working with suppliers, contractors and multidisciplinary engineering teams.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured engineering mindset.\nComfortable working in an international project environment and interacting with various stakeholders.\nWillingness to travel internationally and occasionally support offshore activities.\nFluent in English, both written and spoken.\nA proactive team player who combines ownership, collaboration and a continuous improvement
