With safety as your main focus, you support project teams in managing risks, improving safe working practices and strengthening the QHSE culture on site.\nThis is a varied role combining office work from our headquarters in Zwijndrecht, Belgium, with rotational assignments on dredging projects worldwide. You will work closely with operational teams and project stakeholders, translating QHSE standards into practical actions in the field.\nYour responsibilities\nSupport project teams with risk assessments, safety inspections and audits, incident investigations and other QHSE-related activities.\nActively promote a strong safety culture through toolbox talks, inductions, coaching and daily interaction with teams on site.\nIdentify potential risks and unsafe situations and work together with the project team to implement practical preventive measures.\nMonitor compliance with applicable QHSE legislation, industry standards and DEME procedures.\nSupport and contribute to safety campaigns, training initiatives and continuous improvement programs.\nCollect, analyse and report QHSE data, helping project teams identify trends, risks and areas for improvement.\nMaintain close communication with the QHSE department, project management and operational teams.\nWork both from our headquarters in Zwijndrecht and on international dredging projects on a rotational schedule.\nYour profile\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Safety, Engineering, Environmental Sciences or another QHSE-related field.\nAt least 3 years of relevant QHSE experience, with a strong focus on occupational and operational safety.\nExperience in a technical, operational or project-driven environment is an advantage.\nYou have a genuine passion for safety and enjoy being close to operations and people in the field.\nYou are hands-on and proactive, and you are comfortable addressing safety issues and engaging with operational teams.\nStrong analytical skills and attention to detail, combined with a practical mindset.\nYou communicate confidently with different stakeholders, from crews and site teams to project management.\nFluent in English;
