You’ll create and develop mechanical designs for refuse and recycling vehicles and associated equipment, taking components from initial concept through to production drawing release. Whether you’re already established as a Mechanical Design Engineer or looking to develop your experience further, this is an opportunity to work on real products and stay connected to the manufacturing environment.\nWhat you’ll be doing\nCreating 3D CAD designs and detailed engineering drawings.\nDeveloping components from initial concept through to production-ready drawings.\nDesigning components, fabrications, machined parts and general assemblies.\nWorking with mechanical mechanisms involving linkages, pivots and actuators.\nApplying engineering calculations to support your designs.\nCreating bills of materials for ERP and product configuration systems.\nReviewing and updating drawings and technical documentation as designs evolve.\nWorking on site alongside Engineering and Production colleagues, allowing you to understand manufacturing requirements and see how designs perform in practice.\nCollaborating with colleagues across the wider Terberg Environmental Group.\nConsidering quality, cost and timing throughout the design process. \nWhat we’re looking for\nExperience working within a mechanical design or drawing office environment.\nGood knowledge of mechanical engineering principles.\nExperience developing components from concept through to production-ready drawings.\nExperience designing products and components with manufacturing requirements in mind.\nKnowledge of mechanical systems involving linkages, pivots and actuators.\nExperience using Autodesk Inventor or similar 3D CAD software.\nAn understanding of engineering quality processes.\nGood attention to detail and the ability to communicate clearly with colleagues across Engineering and Production.\nTo be comfortable working on site at our Worksop facility as part of the Engineering team. \nA Mechanical Engineering qualification such as an HNC, HND or degree is welcomed, but relevant experience demonstrating equivalent skills will also be considered. \nIt would be useful if you also have\nExperience in any of the following would be an advantage, but isn't essential:\nTrucks, off-highway equipment or other low-volume, complex products.\nHydraulic or pneumatic systems.\nAutomotive engineering.\nEngineering within a production environment.\nAutoCAD, Solid Edge or Teamcenter.\nFinite Element Analysis (FEA).\nCreating bills of materials for ERP or configuration systems.\nIf you enjoy turning ideas into practical mechanical designs and want to work on site in a manufacturing environment where you can see your designs progress from concept to production, we'd love to hear from you.\nWe welcome applicants from all backgrounds.
