You’ll manufacture, assemble, fit and weld mild and stainless steel components and structures, working from engineering drawings and specifications to produce accurate, high-quality work.\nWhat you’ll be doing\nMIG welding mild steel and stainless steel.\nPreparing materials and joints ready for welding.\nBuilding and tack welding fabrications from engineering drawings before completing the final weld.\nAssembling and fitting fabricated components and structures.\nWorking with medium to heavy steel fabrication, typically 2mm to 10mm.\nReading and interpreting engineering drawings, technical specifications and work instructions.\nVisually checking completed welds and correcting defects where needed.\nMaking sure finished components meet the required specifications and quality standards.\nFollowing welding procedures and working safely, including the correct use of PPE.\nWorking collaboratively with colleagues across Production and supporting other areas when required. \nWhat we’re looking for\nYou’ll need:\nPrevious experience as a Welder Fitter, Fabricator Welder, Manufacturing Welder or similar.\nExperience with MIG and TIG welding processes.\nExperience welding mild steel and stainless steel.\nExperience with medium to heavy steel fabrication.\nThe ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.\nExperience assembling and fitting fabricated components.\nRelevant welding/fabrication qualifications and welding approval certification.\nBS EN 287 coded welding approval in multiple positions.\nThe ability to identify visual faults in fabrications and correct them.\nAn interest in continuing to develop your skills within a manufacturing environment.\nExperience using a pendant crane, understanding engineering build specifications or using computer-based systems would be useful, but isn't essential.\nThis is an active, on-site manufacturing role at our Blackpool facility. The work can involve accessing different areas of vehicles, including confined or awkward positions, getting in and out of bodies and hoppers, and occasional heavy lifting.
