Reporting to the Senior Director, Data Engineering and Architecture, you will define the standards, reference architectures, and roadmap to evolve fragmented tools into a scalable, standardized, data- and AI-enabled platform.\nThrough hands-on technical leadership and enterprise-wide influence-not direct operational ownership-you will connect clinical, operational, and patient data across Snowflake, practice-management systems, and analytics and AI tools, guide platform modernization, and establish repeatable integration for newly acquired practices.\nPartnering with Applications, Data & AI, Infrastructure, Product and Engineering, Cybersecurity, Corporate Development, and business and clinical teams, you will use practical governance to accelerate delivery while balancing reliability, cost, technical debt, compliance, privacy, and risk.\nWho You Are\nYou are a hands-on enterprise architect with broad systems thinking and deep expertise in data, integration, cloud, and enterprise platforms. \nYou connect strategy with technical design, bringing structure to a changing, fragmented, acquisition-intensive environment.\nYou balance long-term standards with delivery, operations, security, cost, and business needs. \nYou explain complex concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences and build trust through practical recommendations, follow-through, and measurable results.\nYou influence without direct authority, partnering across Technology, Corporate Development, business, and clinical teams. \nYou constructively challenge unnecessary complexity, risk, and technical debt while keeping governance focused on enabling delivery.\nIn This Role, You Will\nDefine enterprise architecture, standards, reference designs, and a measurable roadmap across applications, data, integration, infrastructure, and security.\nTranslate technical dependencies and trade-offs into business outcomes, balancing modernization and delivery with reliability, cost, technical debt, security, compliance, and operations.\nConnect clinical, operational, and patient data across Snowflake, practice-management systems, and analytics and AI tools; set standards for modelling, master and reference data, metadata, lineage, and quality.\nPartner with Data & AI on shared foundations for reporting, analytics, AI engines, agents, and data products, preserving delivery and ownership accountability.\nCreate and refine a repeatable acquisition-integration playbook with Corporate Development and Technology teams, standardizing onboarding across practice systems, identity, data, applications, infrastructure, networks, and security.\nProvide architectural oversight for Okta, NetSuite, Workday, Snowflake, Tableau, and AWS alongside system owners, guiding cloud, API, event-driven, identity, infrastructure, and data integration.\nReview designs for dependencies, risks, and standardization opportunities, ensuring practical, scalable architecture across the Canadian and U.S. practice network.\nLead lightweight governance and design reviews, contribute to data-governance and technology forums, and escalate material exceptions affecting business, security, privacy, cost, or operations.\nPartner with Cybersecurity on security, compliance, risk, and privacy by design; build stakeholder trust through hands-on leadership and clear accountabilities across Technology, business, and clinical teams.\nTrack roadmap progress and demonstrate the value of architecture standards and governance through more consistent, transparent, high-quality technology decisions.\nWhat You’ll Bring\n10+ years in enterprise, solution, or senior technology architecture, with relevant post-secondary education or equivalent education and experience.\nArchitecture experience in multi-site or distributed organizations and M&A integration or consolidation; healthcare or regulated-environment experience preferred.\nHands-on cloud architecture experience (AWS preferred), enterprise data platforms such as Snowflake, and architectural oversight across ERP, HRIS, identity, visualization, and cloud systems.\nStrong enterprise and solution architecture knowledge, including target-state design, reference architectures, roadmaps, and practical governance, standards, and design reviews.\nExpertise in APIs, event-driven architecture, identity and practice-management-system integration, and enterprise data-integration patterns.\nStrong data architecture knowledge-modelling, master and reference data, metadata, lineage, and quality-and experience building shared foundations for AI, machine learning, agents, or enterprise data products at scale.\nAbility to connect strategy with hands-on design, assess cross-platform dependencies and trade-offs, and balance long-term standards with delivery and business needs.\nClear communication, relationship-building, and influence without direct authority, with experience partnering across Cybersecurity, Privacy, Legal, Risk, Corporate Development, business, and clinical or operational teams.\nPeople-leadership experience preferred, but not required, for this senior individual-contributor role.\nFlexibility to travel or visit practice sites as needed for enterprise initiatives and acquisition integration.\nWhy Dentalcorp?\nDentalcorp is North America’s leading and fastest-growing network of dental practices.
