May include research, new development, prototyping, modification, reuse, re-engineering, maintenance, or any other activities related to software products used internally or externally on product platforms supported by the firm. The software development process requires in-depth subject matter expertise in existing and emerging development methodologies, tools, and programming languages. Software Developers work closely with business partners and / or external clients in defining requirements and implementing solutions. The Application Support Engineering role specializes in maintaining and providing technical support for all applications that are beyond the development stage and are running in the daily operations of the firm. Works closely with development teams, infrastructure partners, and internal / external clients to escalate and resolve technical support incidents.\nYour Primary Responsibilities:\nAnalysis of Applications Systems in order to prevent incidents from reoccurring\nExpand knowledge base of operating procedures/runbooks for supported applications\nCollaborate within the team to resolve application alerts and escalate as needed\nGather requested documentation in support of ongoing audits requests\nExecute assigned steps of the Disaster Recovery scripts during planned and unplanned outages, collecting BCM evidence as needed\nEnsure automation produces expected results within stated threshholds\nMonitor Dashboard to provide better visibility into potential issues and future outages\nAnalyze proposed application design and provide feedback on potential gaps to business requirements\nExecute renewals/service account password changes as scheduled, resolve production defects and handlle minor enhancements as needed\nAligns risk and control processes into day to day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk; escalates appropriately\nQualifications:\nMinimum of 4 years of related experience\nBachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience\nTalents Needed for Success:\nKnowledge on application support - basic programming skills, log reading and analysis \n Distributed Application troubleshooting and Support skills.\nFamiliarity working with relational databases (DB2, Oracle, Snowflake)\nMonitoring and Data Tools experience (Splunk, DynaTrace, Thousand Eyes, Grafana, Selenium, HiPam IBM Zolda)\n Familiarity with Cloud Technologies (AWS services (S3, EC2, Lambda, SQS, IAM roles), Azure, OpenShift, RDS Aurora, Postgress)\nMiddleware experience (Solace, Tomcat, Liberty Server, WebSphere, WebLogic, JBoss)\nMessaging Queue Systems (IBM MQ, Oracle AQ, ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, Kafka)\nScripting languages (Bash, Python, Ruby, Shell, Perl, JavaScript)\nStrong problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively.\nFamiliarity with Mainframe troubleshooting and support skills (COBOL, JCL, DB2, DB2 Stored Procedures, CICS, SPUFI, File aid)\nFosters a culture where honesty and transparency are expected.\nStays current on changes in his/her own specialist area and seeks out learning opportunities to ensure knowledge is up-to-date.\nCollaborates well within and across teams.\nCommunicates openly with team members and others.\nResolves disagreements between colleagues effectively, minimizing the impact on the wider team.\nThe salary range is indicative for roles at the same level within DTCC across all US locations.
