May include research, new development, prototyping, modification, reuse, re-engineering, maintenance, or any other activities related to software products used internally or externally on product platforms supported by the firm. The software development process requires in-depth subject matter expertise in existing and emerging development methodologies, tools, and programming languages. Software Developers work closely with business partners and / or external clients in defining requirements and implementing solutions. The Application Support Engineering role specializes in maintaining and providing technical support for all applications that are beyond the development stage and are running in the daily operations of the firm. Works closely with development teams, infrastructure partners, and internal / external clients to escalate and resolve technical support incidents.\nYour Primary Responsibilities:\nVerify analysis performed by team members and implement changes required to prevent reoccurance of incidents\nResolve Critical application alerts in a timely fashion including production defects, providing business impact and analysis to teams, handling minor enhancements as needed\nReview and update knowledge articles and runbooks with application development teams to confirm information is up to date\nCollaborate with internal teams to provide answers to application issues and escalate to as needed\nValidate and submit responses to requests for information from onging audits\nReview and Execute Disaster Recovery scripts during planned and unplanned outages, providing BCM evidence as needed\nIdentify and implement automation opportunities to reduce manual effort associated with application monitoring\nPartner with development teams to provide input into the design and development stages of applications\nExecute the pre-production/production application code deployment plans and end to end vendor application upgrade process (e.g. SNOW, SF, etc)\nAligns risk and control processes into day to day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk; escalates appropriately\nQualifications:\nMinimum of 6 years of related experience\nBachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience\nTalents Needed for Success:\n• Minimum 5 years of experience in application production support and team managementKnowledge of system administration - system configuration management, resource sharing, operating system fundamentals\nKnowledge on application support - basic programming skills, log reading and analysis\nExperience in multiple platforms (Operating systems - UNIX, Linux, Windows, VMWare)\nUnderstanding of different technologies and applications:\nNetworking and Storage technologies - TCP/IP, EMC, NetApp, HP, Cisco\nDatabase - Oracle, Sybase, MS SQL, DB2, Greenplum, Snowflake\nMiddleware technologies - WebSphere Application Server, WebSphere MQ, Java, JRE, Nutanix.\nKnowledge on Mainframe Platform and should be familiar with Cobol, JCL, DB2, CICS\nShould have knowledge on MQ tool, Fileaid for DB2, SPUFI, CA View, Service now\nClustering technologies - Veritas, Red Hat, and VMWare vSphere\nCloud Computing - AWS, CloudWatch, Cloud Formation, Azure\nProgramming and scripting - ability to establish automation, write scripts (Perl, Python, Chef, Puppet) or implement system solutions\n• General knowledge of industry principles and new technologies like cloud computing, virtualization, etc.\n\nActual salary is determined based on the role, location, individual experience, skills, and other considerations.
