You will oversee multiple application development teams driving engineering excellence, cloud transformation, and scalable software solutions across the enterprise.\nThis role requires a proven application development leader with deep technical expertise, strong people leadership, and a track record of delivering complex software platforms. You will partner closely with Product, Architecture, and Business leaders to translate strategic objectives into secure, resilient, and high-performing applications that create measurable business value.\nThe ideal candidate is a seasoned application development leader with a proven track record of building and modernizing enterprise software platforms, leading high-performing engineering organizations, and delivering scalable solutions that drive business outcomes.\nYour Primary Responsibilities:\nLead & Deliver\nDefine engineering strategy, technology roadmaps, and delivery priorities aligned to business and IT objectives.\nLead multiple application development teams responsible for modernizing and migrating FICC applications to the public cloud.\nDrive execution across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), balancing delivery, quality, scalability, and operational excellence.\nDevelop and mentor engineering managers and senior engineers, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.\nDrive Application Development & Modernization\nLead engineering organizations responsible for delivering mission-critical enterprise applications that support core business capabilities.\nLead the design, development, modernization, and support of large-scale enterprise applications and distributed systems.\nGuide architecture and design decisions involving cloud-native technologies, microservices, APIs, event-driven architectures, and containerized platforms.\nDrive software engineering excellence through architecture reviews, development standards, code quality practices, automated testing, and engineering metrics.\nChampion modern application development practices across the full SDLC, enabling teams to deliver scalable, secure, and resilient software solutions.\nEstablish engineering standards, development best practices, and CI/CD adoption across teams.\nPartner with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Architects to deliver scalable technical solutions that meet evolving business needs.\nDrive modernization initiatives that reduce technical debt and accelerate adoption of cloud and emerging technologies, including AI-enabled capabilities.\nEnsure solutions meet standards for performance, resiliency, security, maintainability, and regulatory compliance.\nPartner & Influence\nCollaborate with Product, Architecture, Infrastructure, Security, and executive stakeholders to drive strategic technology decisions.\nCommunicate complex technical concepts in a way that enables informed business decisions.\nPromote strong governance, risk management, and operational discipline across engineering teams.\n**NOTE: The Primary Responsibilities of this role are not limited to the details above. **\nQualifications\nBachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred. \n10+ years of progressive software engineering experience, including significant leadership of application development organizations. \nDemonstrated success leading large-scale modernization and cloud transformation initiatives\nProven experience leading multiple engineering teams delivering enterprise-scale software applications.\nTalents Needed for Success:\nDeep application development background with experience designing, building, scaling, and modernizing enterprise software applications. \nProven experience building, scaling, and leading enterprise application development organizations across multiple products, platforms, or business domains. \nHands-on software engineering background with experience designing or developing large-scale enterprise software systems. \nStrong technical leadership in application architecture, microservices, APIs, cloud-native technologies, and distributed systems. \nExperience leading full-stack engineering organizations and driving large-scale modernization initiatives. \nDemonstrated success modernizing legacy applications and leading large-scale application transformation efforts. \nStrong understanding of software engineering best practices, SDLC, DevSecOps, CI/CD, automated testing, and production support. \nProven ability to connect technology investments and architecture decisions to business outcomes.\nDemonstrated success leading engineering managers and developing high-performing teams. \nStrong executive presence, communication skills, and stakeholder management capabilities. \nStrategic mindset with the ability to balance modernization, innovation, risk management, and execution. \nInclusive leadership style that values collaboration, accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience leading large-scale Java, or modern full-stack application development organizations.\nExperience modernizing legacy applications and migrating enterprise platforms to cloud-native architectures.\nExperience implementing microservices, API-first design, event-driven architecture, and containerized platforms.\nExperience leveraging AI, automation, or advanced analytics within enterprise software solutions.\nFinancial services, capital markets, fintech, or other highly regulated industry experience.\nActual salary is determined based on the role, location, individual experience, skills, and other considerations.
