May include research, new development, prototyping, modification, reuse, re-engineering, maintenance, or any other activities related to software products used internally or externally on product platforms supported by the firm. The software development process requires in-depth subject matter expertise in existing and emerging development methodologies, tools, and programming languages. Software Developers work closely with business partners and / or external clients in defining requirements and implementing solutions. The Software Engineering role specializes in planning, documenting technical requirements, designing, developing, and testing all software systems and applications for the firm. Works closely with architects, product managers, project management, and end-users in the development and enhancement of existing software systems and applications, proposing and recommending solutions that solve complex business problems.\nYour Primary Responsibilities:\nCreate applications and construct unit test cases that ensure compliance with functional and non-functional requirements. \nWork with the Business System Analyst to ensure designs satisfy functional requirements. \nPartner with Infrastructure to identify and deploy efficient hosting environments. \nTune application performance to eliminate and reduce issues. \nResearch and evaluate technical solutions consistent with DTCC technology standards. \nAlign risk and control processes into day-to-day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk; escalates appropriately. \nApply different software development methodologies dependent on project needs. \nContribute expertise to the design of components or individual programs and participate in the construction and functional testing. \nSupport development teams, testing, fixing, and production support. \nWork with peers to mature ways of working, continuous integration, and continuous delivery. \nAligns risk and control processes into day-to-day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk; escalates appropriately. \nTranslate business requirements into software designs and implementations. \nParticipate in detailed code reviews with a goal of illustrating quality engineering practices and to produce the highest quality code possible. \nBuild high quality and scalable / performant applications. \nUnderstand requirements and translate them into specific Application and other EI tasks. \nDesigns frameworks that promote concepts of isolation, extensibility, and reusability. \nSupports team in leading client expectations and resolving issues on time. \nParticipate in agile ceremonies and engage with the team. \nYour Primary Responsibilities: \nDevelop applications in compliance with functional and non-functional requirements \nConstruct unit test cases that ensure compliance with functional and non-functional requirements \nFollow design and code standards, contributing to continuous improvement discussions \nCreate and maintain system documentation \nAlign risk and control processes into day-to-day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk; escalates appropriately \nContribute to the design of components or individual programs \nProvide production support for applications as needed \nWork with subject matter experts reviewing technical designs and specifications \nApply different software development methodologies dependent on project needs \nWork with peers to mature ways of working, continuous integration, and continuous delivery \nAligns risk and control processes into day-to-day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk; escalates appropriately\nQualifications:\nMinimum of 7 years of related experience\nBachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience\nTalents Needed for Success:\nExtensive experience with Java (Core & EE, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Cloud, JMS, Tomcat) \nExperience using NodeJS and NPM \nExperience in Web based UI development, Servlet / JSP, Angular frameworks, must have good Angular skills. 2+ proven experience \nExperience with CSS, HTML, JavaScript and similar UI frameworks (JQuery, React) \nExposure to XML/XSD, JSON and similar data presentation components \nFamiliarity with Microservices based architecture and distributed systems. \nAbility to develop and work with REST APIs using Spring Boot framework. \nDemonstrable experience in software development using CI/CD tools especially GIT, Bitbucket, Maven, Jenkins, Jira \nStrong database and PL/SQL skills (Oracle preferred) \nExperience with containers platform like OpenShift. And AWS experience is a plus. \nSolid focus on software testing with Junit, Mockito, Jasmine, and Karma. \nFamiliarity with Agile development methodology \nHands-on experience in application development. \nExperience with Micro Services & Layered (SOA/MVC) Architecture on Prem and Oncloud (AWS) \nExpertise in deploying scalable solutions in Kubernetes/docker containers that are highly resilient and perform well in an environment that talks to legacy systems and future centric micro architecture.
