This role is ideal for an engineer looking to build deeper expertise in messaging technologies, production support, automation, platform reliability, and modern infrastructure.\nYou will work alongside experienced messaging engineers and partner with support teams, application owners, infrastructure teams, and other technology groups to maintain reliable and resilient messaging services.\nThe role provides hands-on opportunities to develop skills across IBM MQ, automation, observability, Linux, containers, cloud technologies, and Site Reliability Engineering practices while contributing to the continued modernization of the messaging platform.\nPrimary Responsibilities\nSupport IBM MQ and related messaging technologies across production and non-production environments.\n\nTroubleshoot messaging issues and work with senior engineers and partner teams to resolve incidents and service disruptions.\n\nAssist with problem management and root cause analysis to identify recurring issues and implement sustainable solutions.\n\nSupport MQ operational activities including provisioning, configuration, certificate management, health checks, maintenance, and recovery activities.\n\nDevelop and maintain scripts and automation that reduce manual operational tasks and improve consistency.\n\nAssist with monitoring, alerting, dashboards, and health indicators used to identify potential messaging platform issues.\n\nMaintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and runbooks and contribute to knowledge sharing across support teams.\n\nParticipate in incident reviews and reliability improvement activities and help identify opportunities to prevent recurring problems.\n\nSupport platform lifecycle and modernization initiatives, including container, cloud, hybrid infrastructure, and CI/CD technologies.\n\nCollaborate with application, infrastructure, security, and engineering teams to maintain secure, resilient, and standards-compliant messaging services.\n\nDevelop knowledge of Site Reliability Engineering practices and apply automation and engineering principles to improve platform reliability and reduce operational toil.\n\nContinuously develop technical expertise across messaging, automation, observability, and modern infrastructure technologies.\n\nQualifications\n5+ years of related technology experience, preferably supporting infrastructure, middleware, messaging, or enterprise production environments.\n\nExperience with or working knowledge of IBM MQ and enterprise messaging concepts.\n\nFamiliarity with IBM MQ administration, including queue managers, queues, channels, connectivity, and basic troubleshooting.\n\nExperience working with Linux/Unix environments.\n\nUnderstanding of basic networking, high availability, system reliability, and troubleshooting concepts.\n\nExposure to scripting or infrastructure automation technologies such as Ansible, Python, Shell scripting, Chef, or Terraform.\n\nFamiliarity with monitoring and observability technologies such as Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, or APM tools.\n\nExposure to containers, OpenShift/Kubernetes, cloud technologies, or modern deployment practices is a plus.\n\nExposure to IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE), MQ IPT, Native HA, or similar middleware technologies is a plus.\n\nStrong analytical and troubleshooting skills with an interest in understanding how complex systems operate.\n\nStrong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across technical teams.\n\nDemonstrated interest in automation, reliability engineering, and continuous improvement.\n\nAbility and willingness to learn new technologies and develop deeper expertise in enterprise messaging and infrastructure engineering.\n\nEqual Opportunity and Compensation Statement\nThe salary range is indicative for roles at the same level within DTCC across all U.S. locations.
