You’ve been part of more than one team, you’ve demonstrated initiative on most of your projects, and you can tell us in technical detail what you did to help. Ideally you’ve worked with at least one devops team, and in at least one flavor of agile. If you haven’t we won’t hold that against you. At DEPT®, we pride ourselves on our pragmatic, engineering approach to making data work for the business.\nWhat you’ll bring:\nAbility to realign client expectations when challenges arise (delays, change in scope, etc.)\nProactively, and independently able to research knowledge needed to perform tasks (i.e., knows when to ask for help, and doesn't spend significant time on already-solved issues)\nYou have the ability to identify potential technical solutions that apply to an internal/client situation (i.e., ability to connect technical solutions to a business need).\nYou enjoy working with peers / new hires to help them understand and apply best practices\nYou can prioritize multiple tasks and communicate the overall status of a project.\nYou enjoy participating in technical design of systems, schemas, or pipelines and offer sound guidance\nWhat we’re looking for:\n3+ years of experience in core programming fundamentals, modern tools (IDEs, CLI, Git/version control), and basic debugging:\nScripting languages like Python, Ruby\nCompiled languages like Java, Scala, C++\nSource Control Systems\n2+ years of experience in Data Management Tools: \nPipeline management tools like Airflow or Luigi, and/or enterprise ETL tools like Informatica, SSIS or Datastage\nDevops tools like Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker\nDatabase Management Systems like BigQuery, Snowflake, PostgreSQL, mySQL, Oracle, MS SQL Server, Redshift\n2+ years of discovery and assessment of a client’s portfolio, tools, and applications\n2+ years of professional software and consulting experience\nExperience working in cloud environments (AWS or GCP) is a plus.\nExperience with Unix-based OSes a plus!\nWHAT DO WE OFFER?\nWe are a collaborative, open-door, best-idea-wins environment that fosters personal and company growth and has fun doing it. Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, expertise, physical location, and organizational impact. This is based on a 40-hour workweek and leveling.
