This is not a marketing or e-commerce analytics role. The work is about getting to grips with complex, real-world datasets and turning them into reliable, well-modeled data. \nWHAT YOU’LL DO:\nBuild, run and maintain data pipelines end to end, from ingestion through transformation to modeled, analysis-ready tables.\nWrite and maintain dbt models and SQL transformations on Databricks or Snowflake.\nDesign data models and be able to explain, and defend, what a good model looks like. Push back when a design will not hold up.\nOwn platform operations, including monitoring, alerting, incident response, and capacity planning, to ensure the platform remains resilient, observable, and cost-efficient in production.\nDesign reusable orchestration patterns with Airflow, Databricks Workflows or AWS services such as Glue, Step Functions and S3, with clear ownership, retries and failure handling instead of one-offs per pipeline.\nContribute to CI/CD for the data platform, focusing on automated testing, environment promotion, and deployment pipelines for dbt model, jobs, and infrastructure-as-code to ensure changes are shipped safely and can be repeated reliably.\nGet to know complex real-world datasets, such as people and employment data or financial data, and understand what they represent.\nSolve the problems that only show up at very large data volumes: partitioning and file-layout strategy, compute right-sizing, job concurrency, and pipeline reliability at scale. Keeping pipelines reliable, performant and cost-aware.\nWHAT YOU BRING:\n5-7 years of experience as a data engineer, including significant time spent building or operating a data platform rather than just running pipelines on top of one.\nStrong SQL\nHands-on experience with Databricks and/or Snowflake.\nExperience with AWS data services such as S3, Glue, Step Functions, Lambdas\nExperience with orchestration tools such as Airflow or Databricks Workflows, and with building reusable workflows that scale across many pipelines.\nStrong grasp of data governance, security, and operational practices, such as access control, data quality frameworks, monitoring, and incident response, in a production environment.\nExperience building CI/CD for data workflows and designing orchestration patterns that hold up as a platform scales, not just individual pipelines.\nExperience with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code tooling.\nSolid data modeling skills, and the judgment to recognize a good model and push back on a poor one.\nA track record of solving the operational and cost challenges that come with data at scale, not just the modeling challenges.\nExperience with a variety of complex datasets beyond clickstream or e-commerce data.\nExposure to streaming or document-store technologies (e.g., Kafka, MongoDB) is a plus, not a requirement.\nProficiency in a general-purpose programming language (e.g., Python)\nSOFT SKILLS:\nExcellent communication and presentation skills, including executive-level communication \nStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities\nAbility to manage stakeholders and build relationships across teams\nCollaborative mindset and ability to work in cross-functional teams\nStrategic thinking\nTAKE INTO ACCOUNT:\nYou will have to communicate with your team members abroad, therefore fluency in English and excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) are a must for this role.\nWHAT DO WE OFFER?\nWe enjoy spending time together, working closely with other local colleagues, and getting to know one another.
