You will utilize tools to guide negotiations and buying decisions. This role combines sales, and account management to meet the transportation needs of our customers. This is a fast paced, high-energy position.\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (*DENOTES GDP ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):\nResponsible for negotiating rates and assigning carriers on customer shipments*\nCollecting the following information from the carrier: driver(s) information, phone number, truck and trailer numbers and registrations, CDLs \nUnderstand all customer shipment requirements and communicate them to the assigned driver(s) accordingly*\nResponsible for completing CS pre pick up script and getting GPS and temp monitoring (if applicable) for every shipment*\nEfficiently leverage existing qualified carrier relationships and on-board new carriers while securing solid commitments on tough new lanes and seizing new load/lane opportunities*\nResponsible for carrier selection to ensure the carrier and driver(s) has been fully briefed and can meet and exceed customers’ expectations and requirements*\nDevelop meaningful relationships with carriers and operational understandings, helping match carrier preferred lanes with freight.\nContinually collaborate with internal DeSpir team members, other departments and any other personnel necessary to help secure and service customers.\nManage carriers and their performance weekly to hold accountability and strive for the best possible carrier/driver performance to service our customers*\nQUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:\nTwo years of Logistics Brokerage Experience preferred\nBachelor's degree preferred\nStrong ability to persuade, motivate, negotiate, and influence others\nAbility to thrive under deadlines and work in a team environment, while also delivering independent results\nExcellent communication skills, verbal and written\nDriven, enthusiastic, and highly motivated\nAbility to build strong relationships\nHigh attention to detail and ability to multitask\nWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office\nWhat We Offer:\nCompetitive starting salary\nMonthly paid out incentive program\nRecognition programs using Awardco\nMedical, dental, vision, and FSA and HSA plans\n401k contribution at 3%\nCompany paid Life Insurance/AD&D and Short-Term Disability\nVoluntary Life Insurance options\nPaid Time Off (PTO)\nPaid Parental Leave\nPaid Bereavement Time Off \nFree snacks\nIn office golf monitor and more!\n**No 3rd party calls**\nWe are an equal opportunity employer.
