DESRI (formerly D. E. Shaw Renewable Investments) is a market-leading owner and operator of renewable energy projects throughout the United States. We have acquired or developed approximately 13 gigawatts of contracted capacity across a portfolio of over 85 renewable energy projects in 25 states.

About the role

We are looking for a resourceful and driven professional to join DESRI, based out of the firm’s Hyderabad, India office. The successful candidate will be a part of a small, inclusive, highly skilled team responsible for supporting DESRI’s portfolio of wind, solar and battery projects in an agile environment that values collaboration, thoughtful problem solving, and attention to detail.

What you'll do

• Work with external law firms and consultants on ongoing regulatory compliance obligations, including coordination of annual and periodic filings and related documentation.
• Assist with administration and maintenance of compliance policies, internal certifications, and regulatory tracking.
• Develop and manage legal department processes, including workflow coordination, intake procedures, and outside counsel engagement.
• Track and improve oversight of legal spending and vendor relationships.
• Responsible for day-to-day compliance operations, entity formation, corporate governance documentation, and KYC-related matters.
• Serve as a key operational resource within the Legal team and coordinate across internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience in legal operations, corporate governance, investment advisory compliance, or transactional work.
• Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines independently.
• Experience building or improving processes within a legal, compliance or consultancy function. Manager - Legal Operations & Strategic Initiatives.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• This role is well suited for a chief of staff or consultancy career with meaningful experience or a former practicing lawyer seeking an operations-focused role within a sophisticated legal environment.
• Prior experience at a top-tier management consulting firm or in a strategic operations or chief-of staff role within a high-growth company.
