This position will be located in our U.S. Headquarters in Gastonia, NC.\nJob Summary:\nThe Stabilus Final Assembly Operator Performs several functions in Final Assembly resulting in the packaging and palletizing of a finished product in accordance with specifications.\nCurrently, we have an opening on our 2nd Shift which runs Monday - Friday from 3:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. There is a $2.hour shift premium for working on the 2nd Shift.\nMain Tasks \nOperates positions as requested by supervision or lead operator.\nOperates manual pressure check equipment.\nOperates grommet machine.\nAssembles end brackets.\nInstalls end brackets.\nPacks units as specified.\nSecondary Tasks\nInspects all springs for total overall quality appearance.\nTouches up all paint nicks.\nOperates powered industrial truck (pallet jack).\nMay operate final quality test equipment, records findings.\nMaintains machines and work area in proper order.\nCleans area daily prior to end of shift.\nObserves plant safety rules.\nPerforms other duties as requested by supervision.\n\nEducation, Training, Certifications\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\nExperience\nPrior experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably quality, warehouse or production assembly.\nWork experience of three months will provide needed time to become proficient in this job role.\n\nJob Knowledge and Skills\nRequires ability to operate all equipment within the Final Assembly department. Must be familiar with the entire product line and with all related end fitting hardware and attachment procedures. Must be familiar with company quality standards and be skilled in the use of related quality test equipment. Must be skilled in the use of basic hand tools.\nLanguage Skills\nMust be able to communicate effectively.\nReasoning Ability\nMust have good reasoning ability. \nMathematical Skills\nBasic mathematical skills a must.\nContact with Others\nMust be able to communicate effectively with all levels of associates including management.\nResourcefulness and Initiative\nPerforms operations with recognized procedural methods. Most tasks are routine in nature.\nAccountability / Impact of Errors\nPerforms operations where inferior quality is detectable with minimal loss of material.\nPacking operation has opportunity to detect but also has opportunity to miss certain quality problems which could result in some loss of goodwill.\nNo access to confidential data.\nWorking Conditions\nGood working conditions. No exposure to elements to the point of being disagreeable. Normal assembly work environment.\nLight physical effort required, continuously lifts and moves material of negligible weight. Frequent lifting, reaching, and bending required.
