This role has the responsibility and authority to verify and keep records of outgoing shipments and prepares items for domestic and international shipment by performing the following duties.\nResponsibilities:\nCompares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items for outgoing shipments to verify information against invoices, orders, or other records.\nDetermines method of shipment.\nAffixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.\nAssembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers.\nInserts items into containers.\nStamps, stencils or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.\nPosts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage.\nExamines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.\nFollows all procedures and work instructions.\nHandles all parts or materials carefully to avoid damage or personal injury.\nUses computer to access information concerning location, lot number, part count status, or the due dates of orders.\nKeeps all work areas clean and free of obstructions.\nPerforms all tasks with the highest regard to inventory accuracy and customer satisfaction.\nRequirements:\nHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED)\nShipping experience is preferred, but other acceptable experience includes: warehouse, stockroom and receiving in a manufacturing environment.\nAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.\nBasic computer skills.\nAbility to add, subtract, multiply and divide.\nAbility to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
