Join us!\nThe Practice Manager oversees the complete operations of the veterinary clinic. Responsibilities include managing daily operations, managing the team, overseeing customer service, inventory control, and managing the clinic budget.We're looking for an experienced Practice Manager to lead our teams at:\nPurple Paws Pet Clinic - Coronado, CA\n\nShelter Island Veterinary Hospital - San Diego, CA\n\nREPORTS TO: District Director\nPAY: $85,000 - $95,000 Salary + quarterly bonus opportunities\nCore Responsibilities:\nSupports the mission, vision, culture and policies of Destination Pet\n\nEnsures exceptional customer service, through personal contact with customers, associate training, resolution of customer complaints, and delivery of services\n\nCollaborate with Destination Pet support staff on a regular basis (Operations, Human Resources, Marketing, Facilities, Legal, etc.)\n\nEnsure the cohesiveness of all aspects of pet care services and cross training where necessary\n\nManages all staff at clinic - hires, motivates, trains, promotes, counsels, and terminates when necessary\n\nOversees the scheduling of staff for work assignments, allowing staff to provide outstanding service while managing to a set budget\n\nManages center payroll and ensures that payroll is approved in a timely manner\n\nWorks with Destination Pet Human Resources to ensure center compliance with federal and local labor laws: OSHA, EEOC, ADA, Fair Labor Practices\n\nEnsures safety of all employees by conducting safety training, enforcing safe-handling rules, and complying with all safety related policies\n\nPrepares and delivers annual performance reviews to team members\n\nMonitors and responds to the needs of pet guests to ensure their safety, security, and comfort\n\nResolves any and all customer and staff complaints\n\nActively manages center’s social media accounts through weekly postings and replying to customer comments\n\nCreates, implements and executes local marketing programs to acquire new customers and grow sales\n\nAttends community events and partners with local businesses to promote Destination Pet services\n\nMaintains appropriate inventory of supplies - reorders and restocks as necessary\n\nMonitors and manages all computer systems located in the center\n\nAddresses all center maintenance needs to maintain a safe, comfortable environment for pet guests and associates\n\nUtilizes financial reports and statistics\n\nResponsible for cash management, including accepting cash, checks, and credit card payments for services; and for end-of-day cash drawer balance\n\nEnsures that bank deposits are completed as needed\n\nAssists other team members as needed\n\nExpertise & Experience:\nBS/BA or RVT is a plus.\n\nMust be a passionate team player and a strong motivator.\n\nMust have a strong background in driving performance excellence through strong people management.\n\nFive+ years in full P&L management responsibility preferably in hospitality, service and/or retail environments.\n\nExperience in problem-solving, exercising sound judgment, maintaining confidentiality and the ability to interact professionally and effectively with co-workers, clients, and the general public.\n\nProficiency in computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite and database applications.\n\nAbility to multi-task with strong time management skills.\n\nAbility to complete assignments and responsibilities accurately and in a timely manner, often with strict and/or conflicting deadlines.\n\nExcellent oral presentation, writing, and analytical skills.\n\nStrong interpersonal, communication, and motivational skills.\n\nMust have exceptional strong customer service experience and skills.\n\nVeterinary experience required.\n\nMust have experience in managing inventory and accounts payable.\n\nPhysical Requirements:\nMust be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.\n\nMust frequently lift 40 pounds.\n\nMust be able to be on feet for the duration of your shift.\n\nMust be able to stand, walk and climb stairs frequently.\n\nMust be able to work on computer system and work multi-line telephones.\n\nMust be able to handle dogs on leashes.\n\nMust be able to work in an environment with exposure to disinfectant, sanitation chemicals, animal dander and excretions.\n\nPerks:\nHealth, vision, dental, long & short-term disability, and life insurance\n\nA start-up mentality company with stable funding\n\n401k match\n\nPet Care discounts\n\nGenerous PTO\n\nOpportunity to grow your career with a network of like-minded professionals\n\nDestination Pet LLC affords equal employment opportunities to employees and applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, genetic information, age, disability or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local law.
