As our Security & Compliance Manager for the Netherlands, you will protect our people, facilities, technologies, and operations while ensuring we meet the demanding security and regulatory requirements of the defense sector.
You will take ownership of physical security, security operations, regulatory compliance, classified information protection, and security awareness across our Dutch facilities. Working closely with our global Security, IT, Compliance, Operations, and leadership teams, you will turn complex security requirements into practical controls that work in a fast-moving engineering and production environment.

What You'll Do
- Own and continuously improve physical security across our Dutch production, engineering, office, and storage facilities
- Conduct facility security risk assessments and translate identified risks into effective security measures
- Manage CCTV, intrusion detection, electronic access control, and other physical security systems
- Coordinate security monitoring activities and ensure incidents, alarms, and anomalies are handled effectively
- Develop and maintain incident response, emergency, and escalation procedures and lead investigations when security incidents occur
- Manage relationships and contracts with licensed security providers and define clear operational requirements for guarding services
- Ensure security personnel meet applicable Dutch requirements, including valid Beveiligingspas or legitimatiebewijs requirements, and monitor performance against agreed procedures
- Drive compliance with applicable Dutch defense security requirements, including ABDO 2019 and ABRO requirements covering governance, personnel, physical, and cyber security for classified and vital defense contracts
- Support compliance with requirements established by the MIVD and Bureau Industrieveiligheid, including facility authorisations, security reviews, and periodic audits
- Support processes related to the Wet veiligheidsonderzoeken, including vertrouwensfuncties and VGB security clearances through the relevant Dutch authorities
- Ensure appropriate handling and protection of NATO, EU, and other classified information in accordance with applicable requirements
- Support compliance with relevant cybersecurity, business continuity, data protection, and regulatory frameworks, including the Cyberbeveiligingswet, NIS2, ISO/IEC 27001, ISO 22301, and GDPR
- Support export control and other defense-related security obligations in collaboration with internal specialists
- Coordinate security audits, compliance reviews, regulatory inspections, and remediation actions and liaise with government and security authorities when required
- Strengthen supply chain and logistics security by establishing secure procedures for sensitive technologies, materials, equipment, and components
- Support supplier security requirements and ensure logistics processes align with applicable export control and defense security obligations
- Build a strong security culture across our Netherlands operations through awareness programs, practical training, security drills, and incident response exercises
- Make sure employees understand how to protect sensitive information, identify security risks, and report incidents quickly and correctly
Requirements
What You'll Need
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Security Management, Risk Management, Information Security, Engineering, or a related field
- At least 7 years of relevant experience in corporate, military, government, or industrial security
- Experience within defense, critical infrastructure, aerospace, or another highly regulated security environment
- Strong knowledge of Dutch defense security and classified information protection requirements
- Practical experience managing physical security operations, facility protection, and security service providers
- Hands-on knowledge of CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, and related physical security technologies
- Experience supporting security audits, regulatory inspections, risk assessments, and compliance programs
- Experience developing and delivering security awareness and training programs
- Understanding of information security, business continuity, data protection, and supply chain security frameworks
- Strong organizational and stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical actions
- Professional proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Fluency in Dutch and English is a mandatory requirement for this position
