As our Temporary Accounting & Controlling Specialist on a 6-month fixed-term contract, your main focus will be supporting the year-end closing process, bringing solid country-level accounting experience and the ability to get hands-on with reconciliations, account clean-ups, audit documentation, and financial analysis.\nThis is not an entry-level role. We are looking for someone who already understands what a year-end close involves in Germany and can quickly take ownership of tasks with limited supervision. Join us in shaping the future of defense with groundbreaking aerospace innovations.\nWhat You'll Do\n- Support the German year-end closing process and help ensure accounts are complete, accurate, and ready for audit\n- Perform balance sheet and general ledger account reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and follow outstanding items through to resolution\n- Review and clear open or aged account balances and support account clean-up activities ahead of year-end close\n- Prepare year-end closing documentation, account specifications, schedules, and supporting analysis\n- Support the preparation and booking of IFRS adjustments as part of the Group reporting process\n- Support HGB adjustments and German statutory year-end accounting requirements\n- Prepare documentation and supporting evidence requested by external auditors and respond to accounting-related audit queries\n- Work closely with the Finance team to identify missing information, unusual balances, incorrect postings, and other issues that could impact the year-end close\n- Perform financial analysis and provide clear explanations of account movements and variances when required\n- Work directly in Microsoft Dynamics, ensuring transactions, adjustments, reconciliations, and supporting information are correctly reflected in the system\n- Support ad hoc accounting and controlling activities during the year-end period where additional capacity or analysis is required\nRequirements\nWhat You'll Need\n- Mid-level professional experience in accounting, controlling, or a similar finance role\n- Solid hands-on experience with country-level accounting and year-end closing processes\n- Good understanding of German accounting requirements and HGB\n- Working knowledge of IFRS and experience supporting or preparing IFRS adjustments\n- Strong experience with balance sheet reconciliations, general ledger accounting, account analysis, and clearing outstanding balances\n- Previous experience supporting external audits and preparing audit documentation\n- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics is required\n- Ability to independently investigate accounting discrepancies and take them through to resolution\n- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial data and account-level analysis\n- Professional working proficiency in English\n- German language skills are highly desirable\n- Previous experience working in a fast-paced, international organization is a plus\nWho You Are\nYou know your way around a year-end close and do not need every step mapped out for you. You are comfortable opening an account, spotting something that does not look right, digging into the transactions, and figuring out what needs to happen next.\nYou are structured, analytical, and detail-oriented, but you also understand that year-end is about getting things done. You communicate clearly, keep documentation organized, and know when to escalate an issue.
