The Investment Manager is a primary point of contact for clients seeking access to the full suite of investment capabilities, insights, and solutions offered by Deutsche Bank PB. This is achieved through close partnership with the Relationship Manager in the day-to-day planning and servicing of clients. The individual leverages the insights and expertise of PB’s Chief Investment Office, as well as the global and regional investment committees, to provide advice on long-term thematic investment opportunities, short-term tactical trades, and asset allocation. The Investment Manager employs a wide range of asset classes and capabilities, leveraging the knowledge of dedicated product specialists to address clients’ needs holistically, including lending and financing, deposits, discretionary and advisory portfolio management solutions, capital markets, private markets, alternative investments, and wealth planning. The Investment Manager is accountable for total investment AUM, revenue, asset retention, and contribution toward business mix objectives.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary investment advisor to clients, providing strategic guidance on portfolio construction, asset allocation, CIO views, thematic investment ideas and tactical investment opportunities across market cycles.

  • Partner closely with Relationship Managers to deliver holistic wealth management solutions and deepen client relationships across a defined portfolio.

  • Drive investment-led client engagement through regular portfolio reviews, market updates, strategic investment discussions, and periodic investment and business reviews with assigned clients and relevant internal partners, highlighting and addressing any gaps where required.

  • Develop and implement tailored investment strategies aligned to clients' objectives, risk appetite and long-term wealth plans.

  • Assess clients' risk appetite and investment objectives, ensuring client risk profiles remain current and are reviewed regularly.

  • Identify opportunities to grow assets under management, increase share of wallet and contribute to revenue generation across the client base.

  • Maintain accountability for investment AUM, asset retention and contribution towards broader business growth and revenue objectives.

  • Proactively identify client needs and originate investment opportunities, working closely with discretionary portfolio managers, product specialists and other internal partners to deliver tailored solutions across discretionary, capital markets, alternative investments, deposits and wealth planning.

  • Maintain accountability for investment suitability, portfolio appropriateness and adherence to all regulatory and risk management requirements.

  • Monitor client portfolios and proactively identify rebalancing opportunities to optimize risk-adjusted returns.

  • Support client acquisition efforts through participation in prospect meetings, client pitches and thought leadership activities.

  • Act within professional, legal, and ethical boundaries and guidelines, observing all internal and external compliance regulations and the Code of Ethics and Conduct; identify and manage reputational risks and conflicts of interest issues.

Your skills and experience:

  • 8 or more years of relevant investment experience.

  • Relevant local regulatory licenses and professional certifications.

  • Strong investment acumen with a deep understanding of traditional and alternative asset classes.

  • Strong analytical capabilities combined with attention to detail and disciplined execution.

  • Excellent client relationship management and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence sophisticated U/HNWI clients.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build effective partnerships across functions and regions.

  • Professional integrity.

  • Self-starter and entrepreneurial with the ability to work effectively with teams across different locations.

  • Proven ability to mentor and develop junior team members.

  • CFA, MBA or other relevant advanced professional qualification

  • Proven experience in portfolio construction and asset allocation, with a strong understanding of private clients and U/HNWI client needs.

  • Experience managing and/or advising on multi-asset class portfolios across traditional and alternative asset classes.

  • Opportunistic and idea-driven investment approach.

  • Ability to articulate a capital market outlook from both an investment strategist’s perspective (i.e., top-down) and a portfolio manager’s perspective (i.e., bottom-up), and explain why proposed allocations and solutions are appropriate for a given investment objective and market environment.

  • Experience leading investment discussions in one-on-one meetings and small group settings.

  • Demonstrated success in building a business and attracting assets through the ability to quickly gain clients’ confidence.

  • Ability to introduce existing client relationships.

  • Ability to discuss performance attribution with clients and internal stakeholders.

  • Good understanding of the applicable regulatory framework (e.g., MAS, MiFID II, etc.), including confidentiality, secrecy, data protection regulations, and cross-border rules where relevant.

  • Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimise workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.
