Team / division overview

The Technology Risk and Control Lead will provide leadership across technology risk management, control governance, audit engagement and remediation. The role will act as a central point of coordination between Technology leadership, application owners, Risk and Control teams, Information Security, Audit and other control functions.

The successful candidate will combine strong technology experience with practical expertise in managing complex remediation programmes. They will be responsible for identifying technology risks, improving the control environment and ensuring that audit findings, regulatory commitments and internally identified control deficiencies are addressed effectively and sustainably.

The role requires the ability to translate risk and control requirements into practical technology solutions, challenge remediation plans and coordinate delivery across multiple stakeholders. It will also support the development of a proactive risk culture, simplified governance and increased automation of risk and control processes.

Your responsibilities -

As an Technology Risk and Control Lead, VP, you will:

  • Lead the identification, assessment and management of technology and information-security risks across the relevant technology environment
  • Own or coordinate technology-related audit findings, control deficiencies, regulatory commitments and remediation actions through sustainable closure
  • Challenge remediation plans, closure evidence and risk-acceptance decisions to ensure root causes are addressed
  • Monitor remediation milestones, dependencies and overdue actions, escalating material concerns through the appropriate governance forums
  • Act as a key Technology contact for internal and external audits, regulatory reviews and risk-assurance activities
  • Translate audit, risk and control requirements into clear, practical technology deliverables and system-based solutions
  • Provide concise reporting to senior management and coordinate delivery across Technology, Risk, Information Security and Audit stakeholders

We are looking for

  • Strong experience in technology, technology risk, information security, audit or controls within financial services or another highly regulated industry
  • Practical understanding of technology environments, application architecture, infrastructure, software engineering and the systems development lifecycle
  • Demonstrable experience managing technology-risk remediation, audit findings, control deficiencies or regulatory commitments
  • Strong understanding of control design, implementation, testing and sustainable operating effectiveness
  • Ability to perform root-cause analysis and develop, review and challenge credible remediation plans and closure evidence
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication and delivery skills, with the confidence to challenge senior stakeholders constructively
  • Experience with JIRA, reporting automation, APIs, scripting or data-analysis tools is advantageous; professional fluency in English is required
  • Relevant certifications in technology risk, information security, audit or project delivery are advantageous
  • Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimise workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.
