We are seeking a highly motivated Associate to join our Healthcare Investment Banking team in London.

You will play a central role in the execution of Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) capital markets and strategic advisory assignments across the healthcare sector, within the verticals of pharmaceuticals, biotech, MedTech, healthcare services and pharma services. You will work closely with senior bankers, clients and product specialists, taking significant responsibility for transaction execution, financial analysis, client presentations and project management.

The role offers exposure to leading healthcare companies, private equity sponsors and high-profile strategic transactions across Europe and globally.

Your key responsibilities

  • Support the execution of mergers & acquisitions, equity capital markets, debt capital markets and strategic advisory assignments
  • Build and maintain detailed financial models, including but not limited to discounted cash flow (DCF) analysis, trading comparables, transaction comparables, leveraged buyout (LBO) analysis and M&A accretion/dilution models
  • Evaluate and monitor industry developments, competitive dynamics and market trends across healthcare subsectors
  • Liaise and support internal teams and external partners across transaction workstreams
  • Participate and support in client discussions and strategic reviews and contribute to the development of long-term client relationships

Your skills and experience

  • Experience providing quantitative and analytical support for M&A and capital markets transactions (initial public offering (IPOs), equity follow-ons, investment grade and leveraged finance debt offerings)
  • Strong financial modelling skills and presentation building
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent qualification and/or work experience
  • Proven relevant investment banking, corporate finance, transaction advisory or private equity experience
  • Prior healthcare experience preferred, although strong candidates from other sectors and banking products will also be considered
  • Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimise workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs
