Group Strategic Analytics ist Teil des Group Chief Operating Office (GCOO) und fungiert als Brücke zwischen den Geschäftsbereichen und den Infrastruktur-Funktionen der Bank, um die Effizienz-, Kontroll- und Transformationsziele der Bank zu unterstützen.

Sie werden Teil der Credit Risk Modelling Strats und sind verantwortlich für die Entwicklung und Pflege der PD Modelle für die Kreditportfolios im Team Corporate Rating Methodologies.

In dieser Senior-Lead-Rolle als Modellentwickler:in arbeiten Sie eng mit unterschiedlichen Stakeholdern (u. a. Business Lending, Risk, Finance) zusammen, um branchenführende Modelle zu entwickeln, die das Risikoprofil der Deutschen Bank präzise abbilden und verschiedene regulatorische Anforderungen erfüllen.

Ihre wichtigsten Aufgaben

  • Verantwortung für die Entwicklung, Implementierung, Kalibrierung, Überwachung und Pflege von Methodologien für Kreditrisikoparameter der Deutschen Bank in Übereinstimmung mit regulatorischen Anforderungen an die Modellierung von Kreditrisikoparametern (z. B. EU-Capital Requirements Regulation (CRR), Leitlinien der European Banking Authority zur Schätzung von Probability of Default (PD) und Loss Given Default (LGD)).
  • Präsentation der Modelle gegenüber Aufsichtsbehörden sowie internen Review-Funktionen. Bearbeitung bzw. Behebung regulatorischer und interner Findings im Zusammenhang mit der Methodik der Kreditrisikoparameter oder zugehörigen Modellen.
  • Interaktion mit dem Senior Management und verschiedenen internen Stakeholdern aus den Bereichen Business, Credit Risk Management, Finance und Capital Management.
  • Als Senior Model Developer verantworten Sie den gesamten Lebenszyklus der Modelle und fungieren als zentrale Ansprechperson für ein oder mehrere Modelle innerhalb der Corporate-Rating-PD-Methodologien.

Ihre Fähigkeiten und Erfahrungen

  • Relevanter Hochschulabschluss (Master oder PhD) in einer quantitativen Disziplin (z. B. Mathematical Finance/Statistik/Ökonometrie) mit Fokus darauf, theoretisches Wissen in die Praxis zu übertragen
  • Gute Kenntnisse im Kreditrisiko und in den relevanten Vorschriften zur Modellierung von Kreditrisikoparametern (PD, LGD, CCF) sowie mehrjährige Erfahrung in der internen Modellierung.
  • Ausgeprägte analytische Fähigkeiten, nachgewiesene Fähigkeit zur Verarbeitung und Optimierung großer Datensätze, Kompetenz in fortgeschrittenen statistischen Methoden sowie praktische Erfahrung mit Analyse-Tools/-Packages (mindestens Statistical Analysis System (SAS) und Python)
  • Nachgewiesene Erfahrung in der Umsetzung komplexer Modellentwicklungsprojekte, die funktionsübergreifende Stakeholder-Abstimmung erfordern, sowie in der Durchführung von aufsichtsrechtlichen Prüfungen und anderen externen Reviews interner Modelle
  • Fähigkeit, effizient und professionell unter engen Zeitvorgaben zu arbeiten und auch kurzfristig und/oder unter Stress strukturierte Ergebnisse zu liefern.
  • Ausgeprägte Kommunikationsfähigkeit; Fähigkeit, klare Botschaften zu vermitteln und komplexe Inhalte verständlich zu erklären; sehr gute schriftliche und mündliche Englischkenntnisse.

Details of the role and how it fits into the team

Group Strategic Analytics is part of Group Chief Operation Office (GCOO) which acts as the bridge between the Bank’s businesses and infrastructure functions to help deliver the efficiency, control, and transformation goals of the Bank.

You will join Credit Risk Modelling Strats will be responsible for the development and maintenance of the PD models for the Group’s credit portfolios in the Corporate Rating methodologies team.

In this Senior Lead role as model developer, you will engage extensively with a variety of stakeholders (including Business Lending, Risk, Finance) to build industry leading models which accurately reflect Deutsche Bank’s risk profile and are compliant with various regulatory requirements.

Your key responsibilities

  • Responsibility for the development, implementation, calibration, monitoring and maintenance of methodologies for the credit risk parameters for Deutsche Bank compliant with regulatory requirements to modelling of credit risk parameters (such as European Union (EU) Capital Requirements Regulations, European Banking Authority’s Guidelines on Probability of Default (PD) and Loss Given Default (LGD) estimation).
  • Presentation of the models to regulators and internal review functions. Resolution of regulatory and internal findings related to the methodology of credit risk parameters or related models.
  • Interaction with senior management and various internal stakeholders from Business, Credit Risk Management, Finance, Capital management.
  • As a Senior Lead Model Developer, you will be responsible for the complete lifecycle of the models and will serve as the central point of contact for one or more model(s) within Corporate Rating PD methodologies.

Your skills and experiences

  • Relevant university degree (Master or PhD) in a quantitative discipline (e.g. Mathematical Finance/ Statistics/ Econometrics) with focus on application of theoretical knowledge into practice
  • Good knowledge of credit risk and relevant regulations related to the modelling of the credit risk parameters (PD, LGD, CCF) as well as multi-year experience in internal modelling.
  • Strong analytical skills, proven ability to handle and optimize processing of large datasets, proficiency with advanced statistical techniques as well as hands-on experience with analytical packages (at least Statistical Analysis System (SAS) and Python)
  • Proven experience in delivering complex model development projects requiring cross-functional stakeholder syndication and in executing regulatory audits and other external reviews of internal models
  • Ability to work efficiently and professionally under tight timelines, provide structured results on a short notice or/and under stressful circumstances.
  • Effective communication skills, the ability to share clear messages and explain complex ideas in an understandable way, excellent written and verbal skills in English.
