Details of the Division and Team:

Vietnam Branch Operations is looking for a Senior Officer in FIC Operations. This position is responsible in providing deal management and operational support to FIC and Treasury activities within the bank’s established control framework. The candidate must possess a functional knowledge of the daily settlement operations process compliance monitoring, trade settlement, account & confirmation reconciliations, and financial messaging. This will include transfer of knowledge to team members. Demonstrate ability to complete assignments in a timely manner and ensuring deal management processes remain efficient & cost effective within the bank’s established internal & external standards & guidelines. Demonstrate the capability of promoting teamwork spirit within the department in ensuring process completeness and interact with professionals from other departments in ensuring the bank’s objectives are met. Must be able to analyze data, recognize & respond to anomalies and the ability to evaluate & accurately document & escalate processing exceptions & root cause. Strong understanding of Compliance, Audit, Regulatory & operational risk is a must.

Your key responsibilities:

Risk Management and Control

• Proactively identify operational risk and develop controls to manage and mitigate risk in partnership with the business.

• Educates self about inherent operational risk to improve knowledge about industry standards, security and audit requirements. Escalates appropriately to manage risk.

• Make recommendations for process improvement. Develop awareness of FIC strategy, predict business changes, control challenges and drive strategic direction/solutions.

• Prepare all exceptional items daily. Prepare and reeview Monthly/Quarterly regional management reporting.

Production and Control

• Execute, Support and Control all settlement related activity for FIC products, including Foreign Exchange, Fixed Income, Money Market and Over the Counter Derivatives. The activity can expand beyond FIC to other departments within the branch as decided by the reporting manager from time to time.

• Execute, Support and Control, all Payments related activity associated with the settlement of FIC products. The activity can expand beyond FIC to other departments within the branch as decided by the reporting manager from time to time.

• Execute, Support and Control all regulatory related activity for Fixed Income & Currencies and other units as decided by the reporting manager from time to time.

• Supporting the various cross product utilities, initiatives which are set up in the branch from time to time.

Business

• Leverages own and teams’ product knowledge to deliver customer-centered solutions. Manage and continually propose improvement to daily workflow and operations.

• Co-ordinate Regulatory/Administrative issues relating to the business along with the reporting manager

Daily general settlement operations of FIC products (FX, MM, FI, Derivatives)

• Monitor transactions in the relevant processing systems WSS, EPLUS, 3D CASH, FXPCA, GCMS, IDMS, TLM Recon.

• Contact clients to confirm trades.

• Coordinate with FO and other Ops teams for FX utilization & U/L docs.

• Back Up Fund transfer tickets (via local payment systems, SWIFT & manual P/Os).

• Liaise with Service Teams in processing FX transactions and Reconciliations.

• Clients’ Settlement Instructions

• Regulatory reporting.

• FOBO/BOBO reconciliation; Interim/Suspense investigation.

• Daily updating, maintenance & monitoring of rates.

• Back Up for checking Daily/Monthly update Exchange Rates.

• Daily processing & monitoring funds and payment transfer.

• Check the incoming and outgoing of VND transactions per FXPCA/MMWSS; monitor the incoming funds and conduct the outgoing of funds (via local interbank systems & FMS).

• Notice insufficient fund to Trader, RMs, GCO of matured FX deals by email.

• SSI/SI: request for setup, amending, closing (per client's instruction).

• Fund chasing.

• Daily controls & reconciliation check process.

• TLM Nostro account Daily Investigation. Check the nostro and working account in TLM; pen note where necessary, investigate and follow up for non-receipt/payment of fund.

• Call Back Confirmation Process.

• Make sure working account is zero at end of day; investigate if otherwise.

• FMS & COOL daily check.

• Monitor manual payments of matured FX, MM, CCS, IRS deals via local payment system RTGS.

• Monitor all Queues and safe settlements in FXPCA & RTGS & sufficient fund in IDMS.

• FX confirmations.

• Monitor supporting docs for FX.

• GCMS monitoring.

• FX Confirmations signing/sending/receiving to/from client.

• Check for EOD completeness.

• Regulatory Reports.

• Manual Reports.

• Local Reg

• Reporting system.

Other Matters

• Monitor daily confirmations & documents, reports.

• Client queries.

Miscellaneous

• Interpret and respond to client, regulatory and other stakeholder concerns along with

• the reporting manager.

• Other duties that may be instructed from time-to-time by the bank or as represented by the reporting manager.

• Any other duties as and when assigned by supervisor.

• Work & comply with KOPs & Regulations.

Your skills and experience:

• Minimum of 3 years of related experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, Economics, Business Administration.

• Strong interpersonal skills and a team player.

• Should possess professional qualifications.

• Should communicate clearly, have good presentation skills.

• Have the capability of driving initiatives, projects, new developments.

• Have a strong understanding of Compliance, Audit, Regulatory & operational risk, and related issues.

• Self-driven and keen on change for better mindset.

• Good competence in written and spoken English and Vietnamese communication skills.

• Possess good interpersonal skills.

• Strong skills in Microsoft software packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
