responsibilities across the following functions:\nEngineering Leadership:\nLead, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers, technical leads, and senior developers.\nDrive engineering excellence, delivery predictability, and a high-performance culture.\nConduct performance reviews, career development discussions, and succession planning.\nBuild and scale engineering teams aligned with business growth objectives.\nTechnical Ownership:\nOwn architecture and development of large-scale backend platforms.\nDesign and implement highly available, fault-tolerant, and scalable distributed systems.\nDrive technical decisions, architecture reviews, and engineering best practices.\nEnsure platform reliability, security, observability, and operational excellence.\nProduct and Business Collaboration:\nPartner closely with Product, Design, Data, and Business teams.\nTranslate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.\nDrive roadmap planning, prioritisation, and execution.\nEnsure timely delivery of high-quality product releases.\nDelivery and Execution:\nEstablish engineering processes, coding standards, and development frameworks.\nDrive Agile execution, sprint planning, and release management.\nMonitor engineering KPIs, including velocity, quality, uptime, and customer impact.\nLead incident management and production support strategy.\nRequirements:\nStrong hands-on experience in Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices Architecture.\nDeep understanding of Distributed Systems Design.\nExpertise in designing and scaling high-traffic backend platforms.\nStrong experience with REST APIs and event-driven architectures.\nHands-on experience with Kafka or similar messaging systems.\nStrong database knowledge (MySQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL databases).\nExperience with caching technologies such as Redis.\nExposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).\nExperience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).\nStrong understanding of system design, scalability, performance optimisation, and reliability engineering.\nLeadership Experience:\n3+ years of engineering management experience.\nProven track record of leading teams of 10+ engineers.\nExperience managing technical leads and senior engineers.\nStrong stakeholder and cross-functional leadership skills.\nDomain Experience (Mandatory):\nStrong experience working in B2C and D2C product companies.\nExperience building high-scale consumer internet products.\nUnderstanding of customer journeys, engagement, personalisation, and platform scalability.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience building platforms serving millions of users.\nExposure to AI/ML-powered customer experiences is a plus.\nExperience with modern observability and monitoring tools.\nPrior experience in eCommerce, Marketplace, Consumer Tech, Internet, OTT, or Digital Commerce platforms.\nGood to Have:\nStrong technical leader with hands-on architecture expertise.\nProduct-minded engineering manager.\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills.\nPassion for solving complex scalability and performance challenges.\nAbility to drive execution in a fast-paced product
