The ideal candidate should have a strong background in B2C/D2C consumer-facing products, distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, and engineering leadership.\n\nResponsibilities: \nLead, mentor, and scale multiple engineering teams across backend, platform, and mobile engineering.\nDrive technical strategy, architecture decisions, and execution for mobile-first products.\nPartner with Product, Design, Data, and Business stakeholders to deliver exceptional customer experiences.\nBuild and scale highly available, resilient, and secure backend platforms.\nDefine engineering roadmaps, technical standards, and operational excellence practices.\nEstablish best practices around software development, architecture, code quality, testing, and deployment.\nDrive cloud adoption, platform modernisation, and engineering productivity initiatives.\nManage hiring, performance management, succession planning, and team development.\nEnsure system scalability, reliability, observability, and security across the platform.\nLead cross-functional initiatives and influence organisational technology direction.\n\nRequirements: \n13-16 years of overall software engineering experience.\n4+ years of experience leading Engineering Managers, Tech Leads, and large engineering teams.\nProven experience managing teams of 20+ engineers.\nStrong stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership skills.\n\nTechnical Expertise: \nStrong hands-on background in Backend Engineering using Java, Kotlin, Golang, Node.js, or similar technologies.\nExpertise in designing and scaling Distributed Systems and Microservices Architecture.\nStrong understanding of API Design, Event-Driven Systems, and Service-Oriented Architecture.\nExperience with high-scale databases (SQL and NoSQL).\nDeep understanding of Cloud Platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).\nExperience with Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.\nStrong understanding of system design, scalability, reliability, and performance optimisation.\n\nMobile-First Product Experience: \nExperience building and scaling mobile-first applications serving large consumer user bases.\nStrong understanding of Android and iOS ecosystems and backend integration patterns.\nExperience optimising platform performance, user engagement, and customer experience.\n\nPreferred Qualifications: \nStrong experience in B2C/D2C consumer internet companies.\nExperience in E-commerce, Travel, FinTech, FoodTech, EdTech, OTT, Marketplace, or Digital Consumer Platforms.\nExposure to AI/ML-driven product experiences is a plus.\nExperience managing globally distributed engineering teams.\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering from a reputed institute.\n\nWhat Success Looks Like: \nScalable and reliable
